Getting Girls HELP!!!!!!

I don't understand why all the youngins on TB are constantly TRYING to find girls... Stop looking and wasting your time trying, when the right girl comes along it should all fall into place. :hmm:

Perhaps they're problem is because they are always looking for the right girl when they should be lowering their standards to the wrong girl. ;). A whole bunch of wonderfully wrong girls.

ughhhh i also heard to never lower your standards too much (be realistic tho) cause you won't be satisfied.

That's what they tell the girls too. That's part of the problem. That's why if you lower yours, then they'll be grateful. Then if you're known to hook up with them, then other girls will want to hook up because girls are flawed and competitive. They want what they can't have. So they'll hook up too. It's just a big glorious cycle of hooking up with not so hot and hot chicks. Beer helps with lowering your standards. But being underaged, you probably know nothing about that. ;)

Peavey and UncleJam need some beer goggles.

I don't lower my standards. I don't think ANY woman is out of my league at all, and I have landed plenty of chicks that friends of mine drop their jaws at. Perfect tens. If a chick thinks you are out of her league, she's not worth your time, because she's most likely a selfish b----- and if she did give you a chance, she'd want you to blow your money on her in exchange for her attention anyway.

I have been away for the better part of the last 7-8 years, and I moved back home to study music here with some old mentors who were heavy hitters back in the day. Running into old high school friends, I've been finding out that a LOT of girls in high school were into me and were afraid to say anything. I was a shy guy in those days, and I was into the majority of them too. I'm now continually kicking myself in the ass because most of them are married now and I keep wondering "what if." These were also some of the chicks that could've had any guy they wanted, but they were into me.

Another thing I learned is the cliche is true: chicks dig musicians. It doesn't even matter what instrument. I've had some tell me (while in bed, so this wasn't a joke at all) that my playing the trombone or even the EUPHONIUM (!) was sexy to them. It's not exactly the fact that I was playing the instrument, though, it's more along the lines that I played a solo in front of hundreds of people, took charge, and wasn't at all bashful about it. It has to be good, too. On off nights, I won't even have the waitress approach me.:hmm:

Hope this helps. Don't ever sweat rejection. Let her know she's missing out.

Nick

EDIT: One thing I forgot about, is the hotter they are, the more of a chance they will drag drama into your life. Not always, but you can bet on it. A lot of them just ride through life on their looks, and everything else has fallen completely apart. That's one place I need to RAISE my standards. Don't end up like me, looking down the hood of a car barreling towards you wondering how you got into this.

I think yer getting a lot of abuse here because there isn't really any good answer to your question. Even though it's a good question. JimS's posts make sense - I didn't read everything here but I'm sure there were a couple of others that also made sense.

I think the things that go the furthest with attracting the opposite sex are the ability to smile, the ability to TRULY listen, and ability to feel good about yourself. If you have those three things the girls will lead the rest of the way. It'll just happen.

Making sure you take a shower every day, dressing in ways you look best, and being in good shape help too.

Join the drama club at school.

Some advice on getting advice:

If you do what other people do, you'll get what they got. In English that means look at the success level of the person you're taking advice from. I've made this mistake before. I've taken advice on money from a guy who also had no money. He said "I've been in your situation before, here's what I did." Well duh, he was still IN my situation, so why the heck would I listen to him? But I did and you know what, I ended up staying in my bad situation.

Sometimes people who have failed will want to tell you why they failed. They're just trying to help. But unless they now have success in that area, DON'T LISTEN TO THEM! They don't know why they failed! I get this a lot from fellow divorcees. They say "oh, this is why my marriage failed..." Well, unless they're now happily married, I'd say they don't know for sure.

Many of the guys on here give really good advice. But some don't. So take a look at who you're getting advice from before you take it.

As for dating, I didn't have a boyfriend until I was 18. I still have trouble with guys. So, we girls have just as much trouble as you. Just find out who you are, and learn to love yourself. The rest will follow.

Setting any standard leaves you open to be dissatisfied IMO.

But as you said, be realistic. Don't go dating women who look like bush pigs. :p

I am Very, Very Realistic and my standards aren't that high in the first place (not bush pigs tho:p), I know my limit (which isn't very high).

hmmm thats our problem lots of girls round here are stuck up, so I have no girls looking at me the best I get is "Nice".

Stuck up girls, screw em....... a lot aren't even that great they just think the guy has to be perfect:spit:

So I get what I get cause my rep ain't that great although I'm fine with some girls I'm just a nice guy..........Thats High school for yah.:rollno:

Eh whatever I'll quit rambling can't wait till the end of the year:D

You want to know how to talk to them. You walk up to them. Smile. And say: "Hi I'm Uncle Jam. I think you're hot. I'd like to call you and get to know you some more. Will you give me your number?"

If they say no, make sure you walk over to the next chick (within site of the first chick) and do the same thing with her. I've done this, and the chicks have sought me out after they've changed they're mind. Nothing makes you more appealing to a chick than the prospect of you not giving her any attention. Chicks hate that.

EDIT: If they say no, be gracious too. Sympathy is a great way to get laid too. But if you're forward and direct there will be no confusion as to whether you are a friend or a prospect.

Dude. This is the most genius thing I've ever read on TB. :D

Where's the clapping bravo smiley?

Become a bus driver. I swear, the first time I rode a bus to UW, the bus driver was some oldish fogie. Halfway through the ride he starts rambling on and on about stuff and tells the girls to write down his phone number and then gives it to them. All of this over the speakers on the bus. I look around and there are a bunch of (hot) girls writing it down. I was like, "***????"
