GHS Balanced Nickel strings

Arrived! Even more GHS Balanced Nickels via USPS direct from Just Strings in Milford, New Hampshire!
So now I have two (2) brand spanking new hot off the ghs winding machines 4M-NB sets. :woot: My first idea was to string up my new American Professional Precision in one set and my 2012 American Standard Jazz in the other. :bassist: However neither bass actually needs a string change  :greedy: :help:

So, can anyone describe the difference between nickel plated and the pure nickel on this strings? thxs
I haven't put mine on yet, and I'm surprised you haven't gotten an answer. You can listen to the sound clips and draw your own conclusion. As for a compare and contrast on the feel vs NPS roundcore Bass Boomers, I'll write as good a review as I can, but it's going to be a few weeks.

NPS strings are steel strings with a microscopic layer of pure nickel layered over it. They don't last as long as pure nickel strings.
Pure nickel strings are wrapped in a solid, pure nickel wire. Pure nickel strings are extremely corrosion resistant and maintain their tone a long time. They tend to be well-balanced and slightly smoother/warmer sounding than NPS and SS strings. They're very versatile.

That is kind of you to say @Arthur U. Poon. It's just that the strings on my Am. Pro. Precision still have life in them, and I hate to recycle them before their time is due. However the new sets of GHS Balanced Nickels are taunting me. Every time I walk by they call out "Play Us! Play Us!". I will succumb soon enough.

Anybody mind to share how the BN string surface feeling compare to others NPS and Pressure Wound ?
TQ

I can't comment on the BN's surface feel, but the PW's have a noticeably smoother surface compared to Bass Boomers, which are NPS.

This being said, I personally think Bass Boomers are one of the smoother feeling NPS RW's compared a few of other NPS roundwounds that I'm familiar with.

Don't do it, Man! :D

Being the penny pincher that I am, I play a set of strings until they're dead as doornails. Get the use out of your present set. We all can wait. :bassist:
