Hey guys.
A while back I bought a Gibson RD Artist. Lovely bass, but unlike the description said, the frets were really worn down and there was some little bits of wear on the fretboard (Much like my grabber had before I sorted that out! Link Removed)

Anyway. I took it to the Gallery in Camden, Its been refretted with Stainless steel frets, the fingerboard has been lightly sanded and refinished, Hipshot Supertone bridge fitted, Dunlop Straplocks and a nice set of extra long scale elixirs.
Well here she is!
Shes been brought back to an excellent condition. The Hipshot really adds to the tone of the instrument and adjustability. The frets are PERFECT, stainless steel.
All work done courtesy of Martin and Co' at the gallery, though I dont think he likes working with stainless steel that much! (Apparantly it was the first time it was ever requested!)

I have sunk £1705 into buying and getting this instrument ready for gigging now, been bloody expensive

Thanks for the #. The Sunn 2000s is a great companion for the EB1 and any other bass for that matter. Nice thing about the walkabout is I can dial in the overdrive with the gain knob without having to add ridiculous amounts of volume. Hope some day I'll land that stadium gig.
Although I´ve played a Grabber for over 20 years, I always wanted to have an early EB-3. The 60´s instruments seemed quite pricey, so I have been looking for a modified EB0.
At last, a ´63 Jazz Pickup modded EB0 at a possible price appeared this summer - and as it arrived it turned out to be one of the EB0F´s! Few original parts except the neck PU, but still very cool project!
It has additional routings made for cables/switch, but that will be filled with mahogany - as will the JB routing. It seems to be impossible to get a good finish without a bridge pickup, so I´ll install a proper bridge humbucker and end up with a playable EB0F/3.
The big job will be the pickguard, I´ll order a 5 ply from stu-mack and set my dremel to work. I already made the fuzztone circuit, both the FZ1 version, and another fuzzface type with AC128 transistors. They sound quite different, have to install and see wich is best.
Here´s a couple of pics of how it looks as i bought it, I´ll post more when finished. (The grabber had it´s own forum, it appeared..) Hope to get in touch with other EB0F owners for details, measurements etc..
