Just a quickie post of this NEW gibson Thunderbird short scale alongside my standard 1977. The little one will soon be on it's way to Germany but I'll be posting a review with more pics soon.
I restrung my Les Paul Signature bass with some Pyramid Gold Flats last night. That's the string for that bass. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries to find the right string for a particular bass.

Yes, but my Les Paul Signature bass is a long scale. THey work beautifully on that too.
Nothing vintage but I've owned them all from new and I love 'em all!

Here's my addition to the club, a '75 Gibson Grabber. I believe it's a refin as Gibson didn't offer candy apple red until later in the Grabber's life, the finish is uneven and this has a weird gray primer coat under the top coat. Either way it plays like a beast- I just ordered a Hipshot A bridge for it to replace the bent-tin jobber. I don't know what going string-through-bridge will do, but I'm interested in finding out!
I have just acquired my first Gibson bass. It's a Gibson IV Bass from 1987. I have tried the Gibson forum to try and find out about this bass but haven't had any luck so far. It's a great bass which I am delighted to have added to my modest collection. I am not the nice lady in the photo by the way. She was a model who the pro photographer knew who was willing to make the photo rather splendid.

I have the original case and documentation with this one. Bass was imported by another chap in the UK, and I picked it up for what I consider a little bit of a steal earlier this year. It was certainly very dirty at the time, but I think it's scrubbed up nicely

LOVE!!! My first 'real' bass was a G3...got destroyed 30 years ago and I've still been pining for one ever since...one day I'll find the right one at the right price
