I have. Either head has enough oomph for any gig I'd ever play, and having a pair of these cabs has always been plenty even for the stupidest stage volumes, but they do sound different of course. The Fusion being warmer and the 800 being more modern/wide/crisp, plus at least until the MBF800 comes out, also more dynamic headroom. My gosh, that thing peaks over 1kW!!

I never said scooped. The non-Fusions still have plenty of GK growl and presence, or I wouldn't be happy with them, either. :)

However, based on your comments, I still think you're right to stay with the MB Fusion, so you're good. :)

Yes, i did kind of assume that wide meant scooped. I'm glad to hear it doesn't.. I actually did try out an MB800 a couple months ago in this amazing little music store in St Paul: Willie's American Guitars. And i really liked it through the Bergantino cabs they had there. I actually tried it through every single berg model! Unfortunately they didn't have the GK 112 Neo there. I have a feeling this itch won't quite be scratched until I can a/b them side by side!

Well,

Here are the pair. Had a little downtime on my hands and changed the orientation of the badges around... First gig with them coming up next weekend. Going to be running the MB800. I'll chime back in on that... I must say, i'm very impressed with the build quality and components of these cabs. Super sturdy and heavy duty, but very light weight. Even the badges, which i expected to be plastic, are custom die cut metal. Impressive.

I wonder if a pair of these with my GK800RB would be too trebl-y for me? I'm weighing all of my cabinet options, including a fEARful build, but there's something about running 3 of these with my GK800RB that is captivating (2 for the low 300 watt amp and 1 for the high 100 watt amp).

I'm confused. I thought that when I pulled the grille off one of my new pair that there was an area with an integral backing plate and two holes for the retaining hardware instead of egg crate holes?

Yeah. That is the case. What you're seeing in the picture is some top notch black sharpee work on those small backing plate areas. Then I used a small piece of metal for a new backing plate to attach the gk badges again. I thought I'd do this to see if I liked the visual enough to eventually alter the grille permanently....I may change it back.For now I think the cabs look totally cool with vertical signage.

Pretty cool! I have a "nibbler" tool that may be just the thing for opening up the missing holes.

I'm still thinking about having my grilles powdercoated black.
