I stack them so the top one has the ports up and the bottom one has the ports down. That way the drivers are closer together. Don't really know if it makes a difference though.

Mine are series one not two, and yes I painted the grills black.

They have that Glockenklang vibe.

2x112 stacking:
I put ports down, horns up, on both.

Same here. Horns always go on top. I don't think it matters as much with ports. Low frequencies go everywhere, but high stuff is pretty directional.

I'm torn... I love my Neo 210 tiltback with my MB500 ... but I'm feeling like I should have went with 12's since I"m a fretless and upright player...

the 210 is 400 watts and the 112 is 300 watts... I play a lot of small to medium sized rooms ( 150 ppl or less ) does anyone have an opinion whether moving to a 112 from a 210 would involve a noticeable decrease in stage volume... or should it be just fine with this cab?

My plan was originally to get a 2nd 210 but I rarely play where I'd need 410...but 2x112 may be the ticket.

Ok, quick question. I'm going to use my 1001 RB II into my 2 NEO 112 II's. i have only one of the special bi-amp cables. If I set both cabs to biamp but use a regular cable on the bottom cab and the GK cable on the top one, then it should:

Top cab = biamp mode and horn controlled by amp

Bottom cab = Horn will be off

Am I right?

Stands are cool but sh*t can happen with stands on a crowded stage. I've gone back to using a gig bag as well.

I've been looking at those Benz 3.0's lately, wondering how does it push a 2X112 stack, adequately using a 5 string? I thought those little Benz heads had a high pass built in the power section to better match the mini Benz cabs? It doesn't sound thin?

I was using a Shuttle 3.0 with my 2 Neo112-II cabs for a while. It is a pretty good match(although the 6.2 would be better as it would have more head room). I have played some pretty big rooms with the 3.0 setup though and it does work. I wouldn't say its thin sounding, but it does have a tighter low end than a lot of other heads.

I agree with Chef. I think the 1x12" is not going to be much of a drop off especially for what you are using it for. I have a love hate relationship with the Neo112-II's for doubling though. There is just something about the upper midrange that doesn't jive with the upright. Its a bit of a boxy sound that is hard to get away from with a piezo(unless you use a magnetic pickup).

Interesting to hear... I'm going to get my local music store to bring the GK 112 in and I'll try it out before I go and sell my 210

I'm using david gage and the Biesele magnetic on my UB so it will give me the chance to hear both... I'll report back eventually.

I use a neo 112ii with a MB500 and Genz 3.0. The genz sounds beautiful with this cab - the top end really sparkles and sounds pretty IMO - even through the sizzly GK tweeter. With the mb500 the cab sounds huge - it really sounds like these two were made for each other. Not as pretty as the with genz head but much bigger sounding. I regularly play with an 8 piece wedding band with the MB500 and one neo 112 and it hangs fine - easily keeps up with moderately loud unmiced drums. The genz doesn't have the juice to do this in the bigger rooms we play. I like this cab with upright as long as the tweeter is turned down some - I don't get any boxiness.
