Should be able to. I accidentally pegged the gain B at a gig while trying to adjust the contour in mid groove. Really dirty, in a cool way! I first thought I'd blown a driver or something!
I could and the fusion has great natural distortion, which I love! I do use it on gigs that I just need one gain structure (channel) for, and that tone calls for some dirt. But the problem of the D.I. being before the volumes, it's hard to control the signal going to the board if switching between them (could be used as an excuse to run from your rig only lol).
You could get an external D.I. and run it off the line out and send that signal to the board. I have had some amazing results that way also.
But im itching for a distortion pedal.
It looks insane even from far away! Those lights really light up! The Power amp seems really quick and clean. Even high up.
The extra wattage is hugely noticeable, ive never been afraid of a volume knob before this one. Sweet pedal and thanks for showing me, I'd love to have one in my hands to try!

I did yet another gig last night with the GK MB Fusion 800. but there is a house bass amp at this dance club/night club. An Ampeg SVT III head and Ampeg Classic 4x10 cab. I greatly dislike the Ampeg SVT III head. Just doesn't do it for me. Even with all the graphic EQ options, it doesn't growl, punch and have the focus and voice I like.
So ....Again, I gotta say, the GK MB Fusion 800 BLEW my Mind!! Absolutely SUPERB Amp. the B string performance, the growl, the punch, the presence, the clarity, sweet highs, cutting midrange and superb low end ....Just AMAZING. I haven't been this thrilled with an amp in a looooong time!
So ....Again, I gotta say, the GK MB Fusion 800 BLEW my Mind!! Absolutely SUPERB Amp. the B string performance, the growl, the punch, the presence, the clarity, sweet highs, cutting midrange and superb low end ....Just AMAZING. I haven't been this thrilled with an amp in a looooong time!

I don't like the contour control on this, or, any amp, really. The most I'd ever use is just a teeny little bit. But, I'd prefer not to cut mids to get "that feel" when I want it.
So: here is an alternative, with the MBF heads:

This takes you to Fat and Sassy in a single click.
I -really- like this at lower volumes, and, with any kind of P-bass;
as I guess it makes a P bass feel and sound a little more like my more favored J bass thing.
GRoberts, if you're gigging a lot at lower to moderate volumes, try this sometime and report back.

Thanks Alan, I'll give that a shot. But at low volumes, I am finding a little bump of the Low EQ knob onboard my Bass EQ and I get rewarded with enough low end pillow to imply P Bass.

Hi guys.
Was wondering if you can share your thoughts. Just took delivery of my MB800 Fusion. Plugged into my Bergantino AE112B x 2 stack. WOW! Had to immediately flip the 10 DB pad to gain control of the volume. Seems like my full band volume will be with the -10 pad engaged, my master at 9:00 and A gain at 10:00. Just for reference, I'm playing a Wal MK3 which is really hot but never noticed this through my Streamliner 900. I now love the tone of my rig. Punchy and crystal clear and seems to have way more headroom than I'll need for fear of blowing the Bergs up.
But I do have a couple of concerns with the amp. The obvious issue which will require me to return the amp is that the treble pot "push" feature does not engage. Doubt if I'll ever use it but it's an issue that shouldn't be there. If I wiggle it, sometimes it will engage, but more often it won't. So I will need to return the amp for this reason. The other issue (or maybe not an issue) is that every pot, with the exception of the 2 midrange pots, is very sloppy. Not that they will move on their own but there is some very noticeable play. Again, I love the tone and there is power to spare. But I'm curious if any of you 800 fusion owners noticed if your control pots have play like I describe.

Never experienced any with actual play. Sounds like yours must have gotten dropped on its nose during shipping..
However, it is normal to have drastically less friction on the pots that have switch functions. The MB500 and 800 are the same way.

"birght won't engage:" yeah. get that fixed/return/exchange it
"pots with play:" all the dual function pots spin much easier than the single function pots. this is normal.

MB800 tested over 1,000 watts burst.
So.... forgive me if I missed something... is the MBF1050 vaporware or something that may actually happen... if so I'll wait.... if not... I think Alan has sold me on this amp. My only reservation is power. I need LOTS.
My alltime favorite amps are the Ampeg SVT-7pro, Genz Benz Streamliner 900 and the GK 1001RB-II. I've shed the SVT-7Pro, so I think it's time for some more GK action in my world.
I've also been using my large-format LDS 3-way "nearful" cab exclusively for a while now.... and have zero experience with the new GK cabinets. In the last few years, the ONLY commercially available "mass market" enclosures that have impressed me have been the Genz Benz UB series. Anyone have any experience with the new GK stuff in terms of a large format or 2-cab pairing for this amp?

AFAIK, the Fusion 1050 is vaporware.
I have both MBF800 and 1001RBII:
the MBF800 gives up nothing in terms of power to that head.
I have two of the GK Neo 212; with either the 1001, MBF500 or MBF800, it's sooo much more than I need that I usually use 1 Neo112 over one Neo212 for big stuff.
I also have an LDS 15/6/1; the MBF800 with that is pretty amazing.

Just got the MB500 Fusion today and was a bit taken back by the fan noise. Not too loud but not a normal sound for a fan either. It seems to almost crackle when the fan is on and stops when the fan stops. What goes?
I just pulled the trigger on an MB800 Fusion , I had a Mesa Bass Prodigy on order , but the 2x12 cab was backordered till July and they'd been having issues with the KT88's going , so I cancelled and went with the Fusion 800 and a Bergantino HD212 , should be here in a few days , can't wait !

Curious as to if you find yourself having a hard time taming the hi end on the neo 212's with the mbf800? Finding that I have to really back off the hi's on both my basses pre and the head, and also dialing the tweeter almost completely out.
I've finally got it tweaked to my liking, but it was a bit of a struggle to get there.
