Can anyone (maybe hopefully even The Man Himself) tell me whether the MB200 has a high pass filter built in? I bought mine a little buddy (a QSC power amp) for getting stupid in the practice space on Friday nights, and I would like to confirm that my cabs don't have like 12 hours to live. Thanks!

Short answer - yes.
Long answer - that may only protect your cabs powered directly off the MB200.
I guess I was lucky to get one from MF while in stock.
Just received it yesterday. Sounds great, that's all I have to say. Plugged it in an Ampeg Portabass 400W 4-Ohm cab. With a dark passive Jazz bass (Dimarzio Js) I just added some highs, and that's it. Nice fat tone. I had an EBS compressor in line to keep things in check. Great alternative for small and medium gigs, and at $229 new. . . Geez. . .
Funny story, the sound guy comes to me with an XLR cable in hand, looks at the thing and asks, "Is that a preamp? Where is your amp?"
I had bought an MB212 combo before, and didn't care for it much, so I returned it. I guess I didn't like the G-K speakers, but with my cab, it sounds a bit more clear and focused. Tonight I'm playing it through my Schoreder 1212L cab. Let's see how it goes.
I can't wait until they come out with a 500W bass amp application for my iPhone. That'd be the day.
I've had my mb200 for a couple months now and I must say I love it! Its the only head I've used since i got it other than a/b'ing it against my other two heads. I've been gigging it with an avatar 212 cab and its been more than enough for every situation so far! now of coarse I haven't done any outdoor shows and every show I play has pa support but all I've been able to say about this little guy is WOW!!

Well, I ordered a 2nd GK MB200 from MF, it's on back-order tho.
Bad News:
My first GK MB200 puked today at rehersal! I plugged it in, hooked up the input cable, spreaker cable, turned it on, turned up volume a bit, touched end of cable for the 60 hz hum, all ok.
Draped the input cable over speaker cab, went to get my bass, heard a semi-loud pop....what was that? The head doesn't work anymore. Very low, distorted output.
Called MF, I am returning it(bought it 11/3/10). Good thing this is my practice amp....they are still on back-order.
Oh well.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the MB200 with your Schroeder. I just picked up a 1212BMF to go with my MB500 and so far am quite impressed. Only issue is the speaker grill on the cab rattles like crazy! Great combo though and it cost me a lot less for the one cab then a pair of 112's.

Not sure what you are doing with that 60Hz hum bit...why?
I smoked an amp once after I took it out of a frozen car. Not sure how cold it has been in MI...

I really love the sound. I've been playing my 1212L with a Markbass LMII for about 3 years. I played one of my loud gigs with the MB200 and the 1212L, where I usually set the LMII's master volume at 12 o'clock, and the MB200 kept up nicely. Didn't have to pass the gain over 1 o'clock (I was feeding it a hot signal, though). It did sound a bit compressed, and I know I was reaching the limit of clean headroom, but I still loved the sound. (BTW, I always play in venues with full PA support, so I don't need massive volume on stage).
It's more aggressive than the LMII, and I liked that the G-K has more character. The LMII is very plain-sounding in comparison. I also really liked the EQ points on the MB200. I added just a bit of highs and lows, and it was just perfect with the 1212L.
I liked it so much in fact, that now I'm thinking to change my LMII for an MB500 for larger gigs. The 1212L can take 700W. The 200W of the MB200 could cover 80% of my gigs, but I would want 500W for those larger stages.
I also recently compared an MB212 combo to my LMII/1212L rig, and the difference huge. The MB212 sounded like it had a blanket over it, very little definition (in comparison), and less punch. It sounded cheap in comparison (and well, it is about half the price of a new LMIII and 1212L). Now that I have tried the G-K with the Schroeder, my conclusion is that the G-K speakers are not as good as the Celestions in the 1212L. Not trying to know the combos down, they sound better than most combos in it's price range.
The sound, the weight, and the price puts this MB200 on a class of its own. I just hope this little thing is reliable. My LMII has not had one problem after 300 gigs.
I was 28-30 degrees, I just travelled 3-4 miles, didn't get too cold. I just plugged a cable into the input and touched the tip of the connector...to see if the amp was working...of course at a very low volume. Anyway, it's sent back....if that caused it to fail, then all of my amps should have failed since about 1967.
Really, in all of the years I've playing, I've NEVER had an amp head fail! Overall, I'm real easy on my equipment. I had stuff from the 70"s that still looked a 9 out of a 10 rating.

I did use that day a very old Peavey Supreme guitar head...that was there at the rehearsal space...ya know, it sounded pretty darm good!
I recently install new wiring and pots on my bass while waiting for delivery of this amp, once it arrived dying to hear what everyone hear has already heard. I plug in my bass and... nothing. Rechecked all cables still nothing. Figured my soldering was no good. rewired and still nothing. As i am unhooking everything I start pulling the cable for output of amp SOUND. tried every cable i have and each one wouldnt play until cord was pulled half way out of jack. Anyone else seen or heard of this. All cables were fine with LH500 amp i just sold.
Ordered mine over week ago with a expected date of 12/10 from music 123. Checked music 123 and now it states 1/21 for expected delivery. Wonder if rag knows when some more might be rolling of the line.
Assuming you're using standard two-circuit (non-stereo) phone plugs, check the jack for any foreign material stuck in there. You'll need a good strong light and maybe a magnifier. You could also pop the cover and check for something out of whack. Could even be jack that had been kicked around the factory floor before it was spotted, tossed in the "good" bin, and then eventually installed in a unit. Tough to say without being there. You could also get (or make) a speakon-to-female-phone-jack adapter or [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] but that's assuming the speakon portion of the jack is ok, which we don't really know.
