GK MB212 Ordered!

Listen for clipping?

Yeah, I guess, but hopefully there's a different way. Someone mentioned the idea of leaving the gain at 0 (which I assume means 12 o'clock) with a 9v preamp and lower with an 18v preamp.

I've got a set of Nordstrand Big Splits coming in the mail Saturday which will pair up with the 18v Audere Classic 4-Band preamp that's already installed. Talk about headroom! When I get them installed I'm going to try out the MB210 at the local GC again.

Crappy cell phone pic of testing last night. My wife really loves it when I play loud in our family room and all the stuff in the china cabinet rattles and moves around! :D

They were talking about using either the passive or active inputs. Passive with 9 v and active with 18 v. I am glad to hear that most a happy with their purchase of the 212. I am very happy with my 210 but would like to try the 212 for comparison. I think that after tomorrow MF will have another 20% off coupon to play with.

Overall, she performed great. Medium room packed tight with 200 or so people. Yes I had PA support (almost always do), but I still play up against two loud guitarists and a slamming drummer.

Plugged into passive jack with my '75 P

EQ flat, boost at 3 o'clock, gain at 1 o'clock, master at 9 o'clock.

Loud, growly, fat, plenty of headroom and volume. Only "complaint" is that it sounded a bit distorted. It was a fast-paced gig so I did not have a lot of time to mess with the controls.

I did turn the gain down a bit at one point and boosted the master. Didn't seem to do much. It's possible that I'm used to Markbass and Thunderfunk heads which probably have a cleaner tone to them.

Certainly a gig worthy amp and a keeper!
