GK rails in a pedal?

Alright - have you considered integrating some sort of over-rated transformer into the chain? It would seem to me it wouldn't require a real large one for the levels you need but might bring in that "big amp" tone that GKs have - the sound of more than enough current (my favourite hifi amp reminds me of "that sound" and a big part of the tone is Mosfets and LOTS of current.

P.S. That pedal does look REALLY cool - I want one, and like I say, I'm not even a GK fan!

John tried it with a transformer output in an earlier version, but we were not getting the results that we wanted. Instead of putting a lot more work into this circuit to have a nice transformer output, we decided to just go with the original GK amp theme and do a transformer project in another thread.

I was just experimenting with the TY-250P again. this time I just mounted to a test strip with an input and output jack, along with a true bypass switch so I could click it in and out.
I wired the primary's lug 4 to the input jack & 2 to ground. I wired 5 to the output, with 6&7 bridged, and 8 to ground (just like in one of the previous schematics).

then I just ran the V5 pedal in front of it. there's no top end loss now! the signal seems to drop about 3-6db ( i haven't measured it yet so i'm just guessing), but it sounds like it has a flat frequency response.
i'm thinking that maybe since the output of the pedal has a 100K output impedance (due to R26) the transformer works properly.
when I bypass the pedal in front of it and just run the bass thru the tranny, the signal drops a TON.

It looks like we may have over saturated the transformer with the connection directly to the output transistors. That's great news that this tranny easily saturates for that other boost project and I have an idea that will probably work for this tranny if you want to install it in the GK amp sim. But your pedal looks really tight for space right now.
