Glarry has a new 6 string bass

I used to work for a company that designed car audio accessories. We had the product made in China. If it cost £25 to make it and to ship it to the UK, we would sell it to the retailers for £50. They would sell it to the public for £100. Glarry are selling direct. You pay more for shipping 1 bass than for a container full, and they're paying Aliexpress or someone their sales commission. But you're not paying the 75% commission that the importers and retailers charge between them.
Plus, these are listed as coming froma US warehouse, so they arrived here in bulk, assuming that all imporing taxes / duties already paid. No fees to Amazon.
Direct selling of product that they made overseas, and brought to our shores, and likely at a thin margin, and profit in US dollars , goes a long ways when converted.

I'm considering one.

I have 2 glarry 4 string basses that i modded the heck out of… one has the original neck one has an aftermarket neck with a thinner profile. The original neck one is a bit on the beefy side but still comfortable for me to play. It needed a bit of fret work but since i did that, its been totally stable.
Both are super lightweight and as of recent they are the 2 that i grab the most.
Personally I think they are great basses for a modding platform especially for someone that wants to learn more about the ins and outs of their instrument of choice.

I'm excited to get my Glarry 6 string bass. Just playing the waiting game now.. bridge looks solid . If they are true humbuckers it will go a long way in sound. I use my preamp to boost the the Glarry Gjazz 4 that I just received a week ago.. pickups in the Gjazz are weak but with the preamp on my amp or on a prdal goes a long way in Beefing up those stock pups.

Agreed. The best way to learn about set-up and mods without risking a lot of money. And they are decent platforms to use for this.

They have 3 USA warehouses since 2014. Eastern USA 2014, Western USA 2016 Southern USA 2019. FOr USA customers they can deliver any of their music products. When manufacturing went to China, it was all about leveraging the Communist Labor model. I don't know how Mexico competes with that. USA Sellers have become Wal-Mart really, buy Chinese, mark it up for the global region it's imported to & sold. Monoprice is very similar.

Anyone notice they've also got a Squier Bronco knockoff? Nice to see some slight improvements over the Bronco with standard Y tuners and a 4 saddle bridge. Too bad it has a "specially designed single coil pickup" aka a Strat pickup in a holeless cover just like a Bronco.

There's also a pickguard-less P bass which is kind of cool.

Is it just me, or do their maple fretboards look like they don't have any finish on them, while the necks do look finished?
