Glarry has a new 6 string bass

If not you......
 yup, either felipe or i could chomp on that! :roflmao:

quoting from another thread, re: glarry instruments:
If you know how to set up stuff to your liking you can mod these Glarrys to your heart's content!

Also...whay the hell is "burlywood"?
The clear finish one does not look like basswood.
paulownia/empress is lightweight and sustainable (and grows very fast), native to parts of asia, tends to have luxurious grain patterns, and is often called "basswood." "burlywood" is a 'look', not a species.

my five examples of modded glarry-based basses:
front and back copy.png BLUE PJ.png headstock copy.png red P copy.png beater copy.png
that blonde p-bass weighs 6 lbs., even, and it plays like a dream (they all do!). :bassist:

Are those the original necks or aftermarket?

My last 2 shipments from Glarry was tracking within 48 hours ..

This 6 string bass.. the tracking info was sent to me 4 days ago and hasn't tracked at all . Is this coming direct from China? Anyone have a clue as to the discrepancy in time frame as compared to other shipments that I have received?

Glarry was originally developed for beginners and modifying enthusiasts, as well as those on a budget.
So, why not have more to offer for those who are specifically buying them to mod them.
I know from the club thread on TB, people have had trouble finding new pick guards that fit correctly on Glarries. Changing tuners, bridges and electronics is different. Some have certain things they look for and other brands offer them but not everyone has the tools or experience to mess with a pick guard that doesn’t fit correctly.
I’ve also wondered why y’all don’t offer just necks or bodies. I know I would be interested in a finished body that i could mess with or a different neck to try out. I could buy a full bass for cheap but then I have the rest of the pieces laying around that I would upgrade anyway.

They could do"kits" of unfinished bodies and necks with or without blank head stocks and with or without electronics.

But would you expect them to be cheaper than a finished one? Could it or would it be worth their while to offer something like that for at or less than $100?

I see some kits out there like that for the price Glarry charges for a finished instrument. Would it be worth it to someone to pay as much for an unfinished kit just to be able to DIY?

https://www.talkbass.com/members/jra.251921/ is doing stuff with them. Would the option of getting raw part be interesting to you?

Just thinking out loud.

:)

I figure its most likely a cost thing and/or little demand but I wanted to ask the questions. I haven’t seen Glarry post on TB before and the statement that they were made for modding was interesting but they don’t offer any options to customize later on.

Can't we all just be happy with the product or not and move on.. instead of all finger pointing and blaming? I have a Glarry that's completely stock and sounds fine.. you want a boutique bass then buy one..
I guess it depends on the buyers intention for it.
Im totally happy with my 2 Glarrys but I didn’t get them to keep them stock.
My apologies for jumping on your thread but again, I haven’t seen Glarry post before and Im in the club here on TB.
Moving on:)
