I AM NOT saying climate change is not occurring and it is very possible that the weather season could turn around. But I am sick of these "experts" who make up S*** as they go along and were telling us that last years hurricane season was the result of Global warming. I am convinced that half the claims of many of these so called scientist are about as scientific as a game of spin the bottle. It's snowing "must be global warming". it's raining "must be global warming" it's hot outside (damn it, it's summer!) "must be global warming". I do believe the scientific community would have a lot more credibility if they could get these "scientist" to shut up, since they can't even tell us what tomorrows weather is going to be. For the record THIS YEARS hurricane season is way BELOW average. It must be global cooling.:confused:

I don't know where I stand on the issue, but just recently in this area we had the 2nd hottest July on record.


If there is this "global cooling" you speak of, please direct it towards texas. Thanks.



Oh, and IBTL. You should know better than to post something like this in OT.

I think that's far from true. Granted the industrial revolution was a filthy time.... On a small scale.

We may be slightly cleaner today, but our industrial world has grown exponentially.

20 Hybrids are going to spew out a hell of a lot more pollution than 1 Hummer.

I grew up a few miles from three refineries. They used to have unscrubbed smoke pour out of their smokestacks day in and day out. 50+ years ago, when chemicals were disposed of, they were dumped out in rural areas. The water quality of the Great Lakes has improved immensely over the past several years.

Unless everyone goes back to living like the Native Americans did, there has to be some compromise. I think we're doing pretty well.

While this may be true in the most developed countries, it is not true in the developing world.

That's true; which is why I stated it as a 'luxury' earlier. If you looked at pollution in Romania in the 90's, it was horrible... if you don't have the extra economic strength to do it, you're going to dump your pollution into the river rather than dispose of it properly.
