Glockenklang Preamps

I would check U-tube you should find something there. I can tell you my main amp for the last 13 yrs was a GLOCK Soul amp and I can tell you it is one of the most 3D, full, rich warm sounding amps I have ever owned. I was a SWR man for 10+ yrs and a Eden guy for as long as well. As well as the power pre rack stuff etc.
I personally think that Glockenklang are some of the best Bass amps made today!
The only reason I bought a new amp was the Glock finally died ( only temporary as it will get fixed) I will say in it's defense after 13 yrs and about 4000 gigs and being hualed around in a gigbag I think it just wanted a good vacation and a tune up! hahahahaha

I'd say the glockenklang is in a class of its own, Im a happy Heart Rock guy! gig after gig, great tone amazing power, but these amps need great cabs... I highly recommend either the glock cabs or Bergantinos to get the most out of these guys.

I've never tried the Glock dedicated preamps but I imagine they're fantastic.

Truly fabulous pre. As others have said at initial demo it can be underwhelming then bam you find it can do it all. Audio taper gain. 3D organic "you'd swear there is a tube in there" sound. Yet it's better than many tube pres. Clear forceful in the mix.
Search and you'll find reviews by MWbass or Wolfbass among others. It will get some grit if you dial up the pre gain. How? Who knows.

My question is where did you find one?!

Bass Gear Direct is the store in Sydney, and I would take advantage of their 2 week trial period which they offer.You'd only be out of pocket for shipping which shouldn't be that much for a preamp that size, if you send it back.

I've got a Heart Rock and as others have said it is really full, detailed and 3D. I drive a Berg AE410/AE210 setup and it kills anything I have used in the past. Very useable gigging sound which gives you full control over the natural sound of your bass. I also agree that it sounds warm and even warmer than a lot of tube driven preamps. The input gain can be overdriven to the point where you get a very sweet natural break up of your sound unlike other SS heads which don't like being driven like that.

From what I know the Bass Art preamp is based on their more expensive Glock Bass Art Classic amp which is the flagship of all the Glockenklang amps. The quality of Glock gear is very hard to beat, built like tanks. One critisism of the Eden Navigator, I found the input very hard to drive to a decent level, don't why, couldn't get my head around how it was suppose to work, and I have heard the same from others as well. It does have a nice built-in compressor though.

Please pardon me about the off topic, but I am also a new Nav user. Can you please explain on this a little more ?

Hitting the red means the Nav is putting out a lot of signal?
How is it difficult to get decent level but also hitting red?
And how is the headroom of the poweramp affect by the Nav hitting the red?

Presumably you're interested in the BAC Preamp. The BAC/Bugatti pres/heads/amps are from the Glockenklang "Bass LIne" which is their flagship set of products. They are similar in character to the products in their "Bass Ware" line (HeartRock, Soul, etc.) but typically use more expensive components/designs.

Have a listen to Trip Wamsley's YouTube videos. He plays through a Glock BAC head, which uses the same BAC preamp along with a power amp section that is one channel of the Bugatti power amp. This will give you a sample of how the BAC preamp can sound.

The Glock BAC preamp and head are wonderful, IMO. They have a lot of features that make them very flexible. The BAC preamp is great with an IP310, BTW.

I used to have the Bassart pre.
Very, very, very good.
Highly recommended.
There is an air of quality about them ( and this is backed up whenever I use one) that I don't find with many makes of bass gear.
It's good live and records rather well too.

I also read somewhere some time, that steve swallow records through it
