Hmm...I'm not sure what number then. Thats odd that yours doesn't have one inside. Pick one? Sounds like a good idea to me

Or you can look back through the thread and see what the previous owner had as a number.Then you can have that number. That makes sense to me.

So, funny story... I was thinking to myself "I think I need a fuzz pedal" because my current group has ONE song that I use a cranked overdrive on, but it COULD use fuzz. So I wandered to GC and asked about the MXR El Grande, because it was inexpensive. None in stock of course, so I told my contact that I'd think about it. Checked the Talkbass classifieds the next morning for kicks, and what do I find? Sillyfabe's McSpunckle Gnomeratron up for trade! I sat there thinking to myself, "this would be a perfect way to unload the SMMwH that I don't use (just not a delay guy), so I posted.

I'm now the proud owner of Gnomeratron #(?)! I'm a pedal junkie and this is my very first fuzz pedal!!! I had no idea there were only 25 made!

Initial reaction: OMG-THAT-LED-IS-FRICKIN'-BRIGHT-BATMAN!! lol I had to cover it with one hand while I tried to see the controls! lol

Beyond that, this thing really does seem like a Swiss Army fuzz. I never really thought of myself as a fuzz kind of guy and was worried I wouldn't like it, but with all the controls (particularly being able to control the diodes), I was finding quite a few "holy crap I really like that" sounds within minutes. I'm still getting used to it, but I really think this is a pedal that I'll really dig. And now that I know there's only 25, I'm never getting rid of it. hehehe

Speaking of diodes... Is there a way to tell which is which? I remember in the first post, McSpunckle is quoted about the "standard" set, but is there a way to tell for sure? I don't have a clue (other than the LEDs, but that's kinda "duh") about which diode is which. It's not a huge issue as this pedal sounds pretty incredible, but I'm kind of anal about my gear and like to know what's what. I could snap a picture of the diodes if it would help, but wouldn't be able to until I get home from work.

So if mine doesn't have a number, does that make me the Gnome Ninja? lol

With all the crazy inside my Gnome, I'm actually using it in my current band in a relatively subtle way. It's working really well for me on a cover of Revolution.

I too have to run it with all the side pots CCW. Even so, it's enough of a challenge to keep the gain under control when I punch it in.

My Gnomeratron has survived the honeymoon, and become a real keeper.

How many of the original 25 still have their Gnomeratron VTF? I love mine. Sure it can get a little crazy some times but I`m beyond happy that I was able to get one.
