Got SRX?

I agree with wild cat--the only SRX's still in production are the bare-bones 350's. The 720 looked so cool to me that I had to search for a used version of its American cousin, the SRX4-ex1.
Even with demand seemingly still high, perhaps they're trying to steer ppl to the newer SRT/SRA product lines.

As promised, here are some more pics. This SRX700 was my flagship gigging bass from 2005-'09 and I unfortunately had to sell when I was in dire need of $$$ :bawl:.

(Someday I might get the other natural version of the 700, or even the rare jewel SRX750)

All right, I promised pics, I now bring pics (albeit made with a meh compact digital camera and crap indoor lighting). Gentlemen, say hello to my little friend Naija:

Yeah, I (unsurprisingly) name my instruments after video game ladies.

I lowered the action a bit but I'll have to bring her to a luthier for a perfect setup in a few weeks. So far, the neck feels very nice (a little thicker and wider than my SR's but still very comfy), the low B is great and I like the sound of those pickups. I'll have to record a little soundclip sometime next week to demonstrate the latter two points (Hell March anyone?).

Can I get a number?

Ac great looking bass, shame you had to get rid of her. :crying:

I like the 350s but Ibanez needs to step up with more SRX models :bassist:

Upon my string change, I'm looking to put on DR Black Beauties to Match the black bridge, pups, knobs and tuner pegs. This thing roared last night at rehersal.

Im a huge fan of these things with black beauties on them! Not only do they look sweet but the tone is awsome, IMO. They last a long time and for some reason I can get the action really low with them compared to other strings. :bassist:

Currently running dunlops on my SRX. There o.k  but I'll defently be going back to the B.B.

I have an SRX300. Got it use for just over $100, and put some GHS bass boomers on it (the set with the .110 E). I keep it in drop C. I'm mostly a 5/6 string guy, but the SRX is a good bass (with an almost untameably huge low end.) Some times I use it while working at summer camps to avoid kids damaging my better basses. :)

Hey all.For my first post i'll show off a couple pics of the SRX2EX2 i just picked up.I put on the Black Buties today and this thing looks and plays amazing.Hope i'm not to late to join the club!!!!

She's a beauty! Love the Black Beauties on the SRX, I keep the same on my translucent grey SRX590. The Black strings just pop out on these and really make these basses look sleek - especially with the smokey chrome hardware. I'll post a pic of mine later tonight...and I'll ask for a number at that time :bassist:

I should try putting Black Beauties on my SRX725... The "stealth" look would surely be striking, but what do they sound like? I'm a big fan of Rotosound 66's, how do BBs fare against those?

Speaking of sound, did you guys listen to the recording of my SRX in a full mix I put in the Ibanez Club thread?

I haven't tried Rotosound 66's before so I can't tell you if they sound alike, but the DR Black Beauties have that same roundwound bright sound that I used to have when using the Ernie Ball Regulars. The coating didn't really change the sound of the tone overall and I really enjoy them on this bass.

What SRX full mix do you speak of? Have a link?

Okay, I'll give them a shot. The worst that can happen is I'm stuck with a tone I don't really like for a couple months.

YouTube - Maniac Mansion intro music - remix by Grospixels (listen in 480p, it sounds better)

This is my video game cover band, Grospixels, playing the main theme from Maniac Mansion, in a funk/rock style. I posted it in the Ibanez Club thread a couple weeks ago, to pretty much no reaction.

The bass tone is my SRX into a VT Bass (with a little extra added warmth from a Little Mark Tube head). Neck pickup soloed with some slight bass and treble boost (maybe a bit too much bass boost, actually).

What do you think?
