Got SRX?

Still haven't sold my SRX yet. Starting to get used to it . . . the sound . . . and the flat fingerboard radius. Besides the change to Bartolini MK5 pickups, I ended up changing two brand new pots that were installed as a set on a Bartolini NTBT 4.5, 4 knob, 2 band, active pre-amp. Now the bass is absolutely quiet.

My next step is to take the flats off and go with a good set of rounds . . . maybe some DR "Hot Pinks." Hell . . . just to be different.

Don't want a club number but here's my SRX695DX. Kind of boring I guess, as you can still buy these brand new via MF at a great price, but I acquired mine in a trade a few months ago. I've owned a couple 5 string guitars but wasn't comfortable enough with them to stick with making the adjustment from a 4 to a 5, but this one felt like I was meant to play it. I love it.

Glad to hear you still got her. Iv'e benn useing the black beauties for the past year or so and loved em. A freind gave me some Dunlops a couple weeks ago brand new. I threw thoughs on there. I liked it at first but, I'm going back to the BBs. They just sound perfetct on my SRX and the string tension is perfect too. Oh well live and learn.

Once again glad your giving her another chance.

I have a 2003 SRX300 I got for only $250 new. I was going to buy the SR505 that I used most of the time (friends bass) but in the end I decided I wasn't going to play much so I went to the SRX300. Finally started playing again. I'll post pics once I get the bass cleaned up and re-stringed.

Here's a stock photo - can't really see the finish but I love the look:

stevenpaloalto when are we gonna get a real Pic? :eyebrow:

I've found the SRX versatile for so many genres and playing styles that I'm now on my 5th one!!! I started out with a srx700 honey sunburst in 2005 and then a srx550 natural koa a couple years ago. My current collection includes a srx690ex and a srx650 that both dazzle under the right lighting conditions, as well as a rare srx4-ex1 neck-thru matte black...more pics to come.

Oh yea...BTW, number please!!!

Sweet, there's an SRX club!

So the backup bass I ordered as a Christmas present for myself arrived yesterday: I am now the proud owner of an SRX725. I need to give it a good setup because the action is way too high, but so far it feels nice (my main is a SR4005, and I gotta say Ibanez necks feel like home to me), sounds great and looks gorgeous (that "deep sea fish" inlay is beautiful).

Pics, and maybe even sound samples, tonight (possibly cross-posted in the main Ibanez club thread). At which point I'll request a number.

I was going to make a joke about how only we Europeans got the really nice SRX models (720/725), but the new European Ibanez website went live sometime today or yesterday... [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] :bawl:

Only two low-end, boring-looking, bolt-on models remain! And not even a single 5-string!
