Greatest Trio Ever!

I was thinking more along the lines of Jarrett, Peacock and DeJohnette.:)

Another fine one - saw them in person (never saw Bill). I would give the nod to Bill for inaugurating the highly interactive thing and freeing up the bass and drums from their traditional roles (pretty experimental at the time), and because LaFaro's playing was truly ground-breaking. But I do love Keith (though my personal fave Keith stuff is the American Quartet recordings). Bill's greatness is unquestionably of a more subtle sort, and isn't always apparent across the intervening decades.

I saw Bachman-Turner Overdrive play as a 3 piece for a concert in Toronto back in the 80s and they sounded great. They were the opening act for a concert at the old Exhibition Stadium with Loverboy and Van Halen during their first your with Sammy Hagar.

Standards trio-Keith Jarrett ... is the first one that comes to mind...
Bill Evans Trio -Evans,Lafaro,Motian
the Dave Douglas Tiny Bell Trio is good too,
and off course the John Scofield Trio. :)
Can't think of any more at the moment
