Fosho. Its tougher being 14, nobody my age is as serious as I am and nobody older wants someone my age in their band.![]()
). Bands can be drama and a waste of time anyway. I've actually been enjoying the whole practice two hours a day by myself thing lately. First time in my life it's felt good to me!Hang in there, and keep swinging, dude! I know the feeling of looking around you and thinking, "Man, everyone at my school/in my scene sucks!" I actually moved to Austin because I decided I needed to find some better players if I wanted to get better myself (on drums, mind you. I'm still a novice bassist). The bass player (a GREAT TBer by the name of Ryan Owens) may try to stop by the GTG as well!
Could be worse: you could be 47 and find that no one younger wants someone your age in their band.
Stick with it TG...I heard your stuff at the Houston GTG and you've got chops. Eventually you'll find like-minded players.
Am really starting to look at going, at least Saturday. Gotta figure out how to sweet-talk the DW into letting me make another daytrip to Austin. I'd really love to pick up some playing tips from everyone. Maybe even *hold* a Lakland.
Besides Tommygunn, any other H-town folks going?
IIRC you said you went to DC too?
I loved it, didn't you. Friggin nice weather! Didn't get over 70 and didn't get under 36.
Man, this GTG is after my spring break. I don't think I'll make it
Well, guys.. Looks like I'm not gonna make it - gotta play two shows that day.
Don't worry, though... Bass Emporium had 13 or 14 Roscoes in stock last time I checked![]()

looks like I got some worrin' to do.....I pretty much suck at bass...LOVE it but suck at it...and I (well Hate is such a strong word.....)...shall we say "get jealous" over 14 year olds who play better than me!!???so everyone knows (because i'm sure many don't), Mosaic is a church, and the Robbie Seay Band is a contemporary P&W band.
1) I agree with point number 1!!

oh i know, i've played some of their stuff. i didn't know Ryan was a TBer. that's pretty awesome!Yes they are......am open to other ideas but Ryan mentioned this to me and I thought it was a good idea.....they are GREAT musicians...
Oh yeah, I bought my first two US Laklands on TB from Ryan (in one fell swoopoh i know, i've played some of their stuff. i didn't know Ryan was a TBer. that's pretty awesome!
past that, this city is overrun with venues. i'd recommend the Elephant Room for jazz, Mohawk for indie, or Beerland for old school rock and punk.![]()
