Guild Pilot bass club?

I allready have a fretless, but that thing is so incredibly cheap(sounds like it to), bu I really love playing fretless...

i have a pilot bass neck for sale on ebay........if you want i sell to you this way you have a neck to make fretless and you can keep your original neck if you don't like the way it sounds.

Thanx for the offer, but I've never used e-bay, don't have an account or pay-pall... haha and besides that, I'm flatbroke right now...

right now I play it with heavy gauge flats, sounds incredible... so I think fretless will sound awesome to, only thing is: Do I really want to do that with this bass?

if you were interested i would pull it off of ebay and sell it directly to you, no need for an ebay account. i put it out for $125. i wasn't trying to make a sale i was just looking to give you a different option in case you didn't like the way it sounded without frets.

how does a fretless pilot sound?
I'm thinking about making mine a fretless(I really want a fretless bass, and I have enough basses)

Oh, I'd say that a Guild Pilot fretless sounds fine...

This is me with "Blue Boy", my Guild Pilot 5 that I bought brand new back in September 1987 (ser. no BK100210). It was fretted at the time. I converted BB to fretless in March 2001 just so I could say I have a fretless. It's the original neck; the frets were removed and the slots filled in with a mix of glue and fine maple sawdust. The picture was taken October 2007 after a John East U-Retro preamp was installed, and I am putting BB through his paces. Boy, does he sound great! And BB still has the original EMGs on him; it is said that the U-Retro preamp has a particular affinity for the EMG pickup.

So...what's my number?

Has anyone ever tried fitting a Pilot Bass with a Fender neck? I am curious to know if this can be done. Fender necks have a rounded base but he Pilot body has a squared neck pocket. Do you think it can work?

Don't know if this can be done... and IMO it would be useless, a pilot neck is way better than a fender... but that's just IMO...

Sure, i would agree. But I have a really nice ebonol fretless neck that I am trying to make use of. I'd be curious to know the neck pocket dimensions of a pilot bass if anyone knows this.
