I saw that. I couldn't figure out the pickup selector. Like, most of those looked like this:
The one for sale has like toggle switches or something?
IMO, if it's not original, it's probably not worth $400. Definitely unique though.
The switch on the Fender HM is original. I believe it works sort of like a strat switch. Has lots of sounds.
The neck on that thing looks legit, but I hope whoever bought it verified the serial number. I worked in a GC for a while and we had at least three or four instances of Skylines being brought in with the "Skyline" sanded off, trying to be sold as USA Laklands. One even had a little USA flag covering the Made in Korea on the back of the headstock, which was actually hilarious.
I just meant more it's a 44-94, not one of the early 4-94 models with the neck plate and the front mounted input jack, but these are all good points

You're right. It should look just like a strat, and it looks like there are 3 actual metal switches. Very odd. I wonder if it could still be wired so it gets the same combinations of pickups?
I'd guess that you have total control over the pickup combinations, which you don't have with the switch.
Unless they are three way switches that reverse phase, they could multiply hum instead of cancel with some combinations.
Not having hum cancellation would be the least of the sonic issues involved.
Alright guys, I've been sharing a few deals lately. So either indulge me or ignore me on this post. I don't want to come off as boastful.
But. I scored what I think is an awesome deal... I've been interested in Bass Mods for a while. So when I saw this I figured it was my best chance:
Contacted the store it was located at, got some more pictures and info and made the purchase. The associate said he had a lot of interest in it so far. I think it was just added today or yesterday. Doubt it would've lasted long.
Delano pickups, Hipshot tuners and bridge, Aguilar OPB-3 preamp. I think if I were to buy these parts alone brand new, they would make up a high percentage of the price I paid for the whole thing. It's also plek'd and has a chambered body. (Still fairly heavy at 10.2 lbs.)
I'm not a huge fan of the gold hardware but I'm in love with the finish. It reminds me a lot of the Seafoam Pearl on the MIM Fender PJs from a few years back. In the closeups it really shows some sparkle.
If this thing lives up to the reputation it gets from some of the users around here, I might just have a new main player! (And I might just have a couple other basses to sell if so.)

Another Peavey T40 with case for $399.99. The other one that I posted went pretty fast. Not sure if someone from TB got it or not.

This Bass is a 1999 legit 4-94. Good to have 1 back in my stable
