Heads up on this Heartfield: Invalid Link Removed

I bought it a few days ago online from the Waco, TX, store, but I had to return it as it has a great deal of undisclosed, unpictured cosmetic damage, namely boatloads of small dings and dents, buckle rash, what looks like a burn of some kind near the front edge and a pair of huge chips down to the wood on the bottom edge, evidence of having been dropped or hit hard. It also needs a little fretwork and the trussrod is very stiff, though functional.

It does sound great and plays pretty well after I did some setup work, but corporate would only offer me $80 off, which, given the condition & price (a little over $600 after tax + shipping), was unacceptable. Unfortunately, they've just relisted it without mention of the damage or new pics, nor with an update to the "Good" condition status. :^/

They will re-list anything, they re-listed two that I bought and returned with a snapped off truss rod end with nut and never said a word in the listing.
Called them both times and asked what the heck were they doing, they never changed the listings even then.

$1999 for a blue line SVT and matching cab. Pretty sweet, especially with the $22 shipping, lol.

Don't walk, RUN from the Steinberger Synapse listed at Jax, FL GC. It has a permanently warped (a la ski jump shaped) neck due to long term broken truss rod. However, the parts/electronics are good (slightly scratchy pots) so maybe you can get it for a song.

GC in Orange Park has a nice Modulus Flea bass that is in excellent condition except for the two chips in the headstock. Why on earth would they put a Fender-style bridge on it opposed to something open like a Hipshot is beyond my comprehension, but you might like it.

Did it at least come with the original gray case?

For the same reason Nash and all the rest do.
I guess people think that if you have a beat up instrument that you have been playing a long time?
Most folks that bought basses in the 60's and 70's tried not to F them up.
