Cheaper than $799? Wish I saw those ads.

I'd say big "yea" on that Raputre. IME, $799 is a very reasonable price. It's a rare day I see a JJ Rapture going for anwhere near that price. Particularly considering these basses list for $3,800.

I'm pretty sure this one had a slight hump in the neck. When I tested the upper frets with a straight edge from the 12th-15th fret, there was some fall away towards the body. It just wasn't right. I returned it and to no surprise, it has been relisted at the North Attleboro store where I brought it back, even though they refunded my shipping, admitting that there was an issue with the bass.

:rollno:Buyer beware on this bass........I purchased it from GC online and returned it to the Towson GC for the reasons stated above. It also has an issue with the treble eq not working as it should. This is the worst example of a Lakland Skyline I have ever played. I came here to post a note about it and saw the above thread !!! Avoid this Lakland 5502, when I returned it to the Towson GC I made them aware of all the issues......it should never have been resold without being fixed. The fret sprout alone was just unacceptable, it made the bass unplayable, no excuse for reselling it again without some major work being done.

There's gotta be something wrong with this since it's the lowest resale cost I've ever seen for one of these, but who knows.

On the phone with them now, somebody is buying it on the other line though. A knob is missing and the pickup selector is "broken off". Also no case, which is why I called.

I just spent 3 days trying to buy a bass from GC. Never do I just purchase without making an offer for used gear. Best thing is that they can say yes. So, I always call the store. I had issues with the stores accepting my CC for the purchase, so I called the Headquarters in California and worked with them for 3 hours on two different days to figure it out. Well, nothing got settled, but I did finally purchase the bass. Got attitude from the store manager, but in the end, I got the bass I was after.

Purchased a Modulus Q5 and saved 33% off the Used Listed price. I always make offers on something I want. Never hurts. 80% of the time they say no. But, I am always ready to buy when they say yes. I don't ever make an offer I am not willing to follow through on. I have been having trouble with GC accepting my CC. Don't know why. I have now proven to GC that it is their system not accepting it. I have not followed up with them since Thursday to see if they have corrected the problem.

I bought a used like new Modulus Q5 from Guitar Center for $1,500 and sold it on Craigslist for $2,400. Made a solid profit within 2 weeks. I always keep an eye on the local used gear that would sell well on Craigslist. It's an easy money maker.
