I think it's the other way around. There's an American made bullet in my local GC that's long scale.i'm pretty sure all the s/s bullets had 19 frets and were american made.

I think you're right. That's a great bass. It's in the Queens GC for $600.check the headstock; i expect that is a bullet bass deluxe (also known as a b-34). m.i.a. bullet basses came in short and long scale versions. i'm confident the m.i.j. versions were all long scale.
I don't know what these mods add or take away from the value, but here it is anyway:

!!!!?????
I just said "screw it"... I called. the sales lady said it's rough for sure, but it plays and sounds fine, could use a re-tube. Might be worth a closer look if you're nearby.
That's not my definition of "re-tube", but I'm a solid state guy, what do I know?Hah, showed up with no tubes (and nothing else is in transit to me from the store). I look forward to spending hours of time on the phone with them, followed by a week for delivery, then probably finding out it doesn't work properly.

As a G&L employee from the era, I can attest to the accuracy of the above.Did anybody here buy this? This could been a hell of a deal
They only made about 1200 El Toro basses
The electronics are stock. They did make a passive El Toro early on and are very rare.
G&L did offer the option of Kahler Trems on some basses. There are L2000s and interceptors leaving the Factory with Kahler bass trems and this could been one. I have seen them on an el toro before.
It is possible that this is not a refinish at all. Certain NAMM El Toros had black head stocks, and this have a Kahler its possible this could of been one. I cant tell from the photos if it is a refin.
What is this "Special P" that is 299.00? Is it the one that usually has the same colors as the deluxe with anodized pickguard etc., but without the active electronics? Or is it something else?

Plus, would it be better to post this in a different section? Thanks!
Another longshot: it's really, really unlikely that you'll actually get a 5 string Marcus Miller for $400, but it's possible. Unlikely, but possible.
