My father has just 'gifted' me a 'almost case queen' that he bought around 1994/5 - a 1990 Yamaha 'MSG' Deluxe. Sold in the UK as the 'MSG', but in other parts of the world as the 'Image', this was designed for Yamaha by UK luthier Martyn Booth, who happens to live just up the road from me (The Story | Martyn Booth Guitars). It is a superb instrument, based loosely on the solid-body Gibson 335-S but built to the much higher standards of PRS, to which it is perhaps more comparable. One-piece mahogany body with flame maple top, mahogany neck with ebony board, 25" scale and 22 jumbo frets, push/push HB/SC on the tone knob and a floyd-rose based RM-Pro tremolo.
I only really have space for one electric guitar, so as much as I love a good Strat, this one is probably on borrowed time...
