I'm sure Animas would be similar and they are on my short list of things to try soon)

The thing I really liked about the Animas was the controllable amount of growl available... it was there when I wanted it, but it wasn't strident, and it never overshadowed the basic organic complexity of the sound.
I played Garbos on another bass, and they were actually my "entry drug" to Animas. I just preferred the Animas for my needs.
