Hard liquor suddenly makes me sick

Hi all,
I'm currently 18 years of age. I started drinking(properly) last year when I was 17. So far, as far as drinking goes, I've been doing great. I'm far more tolerant than most of my friends and can outdrink most of them remaining more sober after half a bottle than most of them are after a couple shots.
Last weekend, we together with my roommate decided to get a 750ml bottle of Bacardi(quite cheap of a rum). I ended up drinking most of it, around 600ml, with an empty stomach and no chaser. Downed the whole bottle of the cheap crap in less than half an hour. It got me pretty messy and just as I laid in my bed to sleep I started throwing up like crazy all over the room. Never before had I thrown up after drinking. I had to clean up the place the next day while hungover.
The point of this post is, as I'm writing this, I'm sipping scotch. Sadly, it is making me kinda sick. My body's reaction to last weekend's overkill I guess. I had a couple pints of beer and some wine earlier this week and had no problems. The taste of somewhat cheap whiskey(Black Label) reminds me of the the Bacardi and makes me a little sick.
The question is, how fast can I recover and go back to drinking hard liquor?
Thanks.

You are already in trouble with drinking.

LISTEN to your body. Don't do what it does not like! it's telling you to knock it off.

And start by going a week without a drink to get your body cleaned out. After that, limit yourself to two drinks at most - there is no virtue in being able to out-drink your friends. Too many teenagers trying to "act like grownups" do that.
And if you find that you start drinking more, QUIT. Not everyone is able to drink occasionally - some people need to stay away from it.

This... Anyone who gets drunk .. on purpose is an idiot. Period. Don't be that.

Your body is giving you a clear message man. I wish I was 18 again. I wouldn't drink a drop. Life would be markedly better. But do as you please. Maybe eat some nutritious food and don't go with a really sugary chased. You'll further dehydrate.

If you must drink a lot, keep a one liter Nalgene water bottle on your bed stand and chug that before you stumble into bed. Maybe a multi-vitamin and some ginger herbal pill things.

And 600mL is nothing to laugh at. You're signing up for a 2 day ordeal at that point. I would really advocate not drinking that much. If you truly require 600mL to get as drunk as you desire, you are not in a healthy place.

I'll answer your question with a story: I'm 62. I have a lot of friends that will never touch Tequila again. In each case there is a story behind it and, oddly, the stories are all surprisingly similar.

Derp,

I drank the same way you're describing when I was your age. At 130 lbs, I could drink under the table friends who were much larger than me. I could also manage to drive my way home every time without getting into an accident. Then I lost all my friends because I became an alcoholic douche bag in less than a year of hard drinking and partying. I got a DUI and lost my drivers license and my job. There was no such thing as the internet at that time so I never received any online advice to stop drinking so much.

The best thing that ever happened to me was when the last friend that I had left in the world told me that I was an intolerable ****wad and nobody could stand to be around me. Fortunately for you, the internet is here and you are a member of a discussion community where people love you enough to tell you what a jerk you are being as described by yourself in this thread. Thank them for their concern and get your act together before you destroy your life, but more importantly, before you hurt others through your irresponsible and reckless behavior.

As an alcoholic, I have to recommended you stop.

As a parent, I have to hope you stop.

As the jerk I really am, I recommend that if you wanna get your swerve on while not eating, go anal. Put a funnel in your rear and have your buddy pour half of what you usually consume in there. Half. There's a reason for that.

If you don't have a handy "friend", fill a smaller bottle, or get an enema kit and fill that bottle and use it solo.

Hold it in before you go go
Use a Fleet if you're going solo

Good luck with that.

If you want to keep drinking the cheap stuff, and in fairly short order the volume of liguor per dollar will be your primary concern, buy a bottle of the cheapest cooking oil you can find and drink a big glass of that before you start with your first drink of the morning. This will do two things, it will coat your gut so you don't burn holes in it as quickly, and it will allow you to take a load on without having to waste any money on food to avoid the sickness that comes from drinking on an empty stomach.

Next, sell all your music gear and everything else but a couple changes of clothes. That's really all you need anyway. You can wash out the dirty shirt and pants in the sink to avoid having to waste any money on washing. If you have a nice car, dump it while it's still worth more than scrap price. If you can find a cheap POS before you drink up all the cash from the sale of your good car, go for it. If you din't find a junker before you run out of money, put enough back to get a bus ticket to the nearest big city and find a flop house within walking distance of a liquor store, then get arrested for vagrancy. While in jail tell them you don't want to live any more because of your drinking to get a written record started to use when you hire a lawyer to get you a gub'ment check for Social Security disability for alcoholism. It Ain't much but it will pay for your flop and keep you pickled, for a while. You'll reach a point where you need your flop money to keep you right so you'll move into a cardboard box under a bridge, but only for a short while, because at that point you will either be the subject of an intense intervention, or you'll die from alcohol poisoning or exposure if you last til the first winter. If you live in a more temperate climate you may last a couple years under the bridge, but that's doubtful because your fellow drunks will be trying to knock you in the head every check day so they can get right without having to blow the stockbrokers from the financial district.

Let me know if i can be of any further help.

If you're drinking and throwing up, you're not a seasoned pro. You're a rookie.

Seasoned alcoholics do not have a problem with alcohol...and will tell you so themselves.

You should be able to knock off at least half of a 40oz bottle of Vodka daily or more every day of the week.

Except for the weekend ......where you just keep drinking until you reach blackout and functional alcohol amnesia.

You will wake up in places you never dreamed of....like jail...or houses of people you don't even know......or a car crash (if you drive)......or sleeping in ditches....or you're covered in bruises and missing teeth from a fight you don't even remember.....

Good times...

Wine is fine, but whiskey's quicker
Suicide is slow with liqueur
Take a bottle, drown your sorrows
Then it floods away tomorrows
Away tomorrows

Evil thoughts and evil doings
Cold, alone you hang in ruins
Thought that you'd escape the reaper
You can't escape the master keeper

'Cos you feel life's unreal, and you're living a lie
Such a shame, who's to blame, and you're wondering why
Then you ask from your cask, is there life after birth
What you saw can mean hell on this earth
Hell on this earth

Now you live inside a bottle
The reaper's travelling at full throttle
It's catching you, but you don't see
The reaper's you, and the reaper is me

Breaking laws, knocking doors
But there's no one at home
Made your bed, rest your head
But you lie there and moan
Where to hide, suicide is the only way out
Don't you know what it's really about

Wine is fine, but whiskey's quicker
Suicide is slow with liqueur
Take a bottle, drown your sorrows
Then it floods away tomorrows

It's a long story. I just think too much. I think all day long, 24/7. My brain is overloaded with thoughts and often I can't even fall asleep because my brain is constantly alert. Thus I more often than should i refer to alcohol to just knock me out.
This is a medical condition, and treatable.
I am off the hook ADHD I seldom sleep for more than 4 hours. Drinking makes you pass out and that IS NOT SLEEP.
You might consider physical activity to help your ability to sleep. Avoid sugars, and stimulants.

The little smidge of Wham is what did it for me. But the picture in my head is probably funnier than I could explain.

Now on gettin' hammered: None of this alcoholic anal bead business. You're gonna need a quantity of medical grade ethanol and some equipment traditionally used in blood work. You'll need even less quantity than the anal method. Maybe go 100mL at a time unless you find a massive reservoir needle or manage to set up an IV drop system. That's the masters course.

Or Bombay Saphire is 94 proof. And it isn't garbge. And it'll go with ginger ale which helps the stomach. No empty stomach man. Bad idea.

I mean my drinking has become more frequent and went from a couple beers every weekend to a bunch of beers during the week and hard liquor every weekend over the course of four months, and no, although I may be drunk I don't do troll posts.

If you're not messing with us , it's time to do something different with yourself. The reason I wonder if you're messing with us is because it's so obvious that you're drinking too much. If you truly don't know if you are, yes, you are.
