Geez, registering isn't a big deal, and there is no sales pitch involved. Just post once under "welcomes/etc" to say hi, proving you are a human being and not a spambot. That's it.

As for Foz's charts, here's the hardware & software for at least one of them:

"Earthworks QTC1, Presonus M80, Wavelab 6 Fast Fourier Transform spectrum analyzer... all uncalibrated."

"I burned a CD with white noise and pink noise tracks and used the white noise as signal source for measurements and later used the pink noise source to set PEQ for PA use. Fed the signal from a CD deck through a Yamaha MG24 mixer into a Carvin FET1000 amp then to the device under test."

Now, go register and read some threads already if you want more. There are well organized subforums and search works fine. Can't expect people to just sit here and cross post stuff for every random question.

it seems Barefaced Speakers are the only ones publishing their “Volume Displacement” figures - oh well, to each their own.

Dude, you were just told where to get them. You know what drivers are in them. The driver manufacturers publish that data openly.

The 3012LF is 494cc. The 3015LF is 846cc. You do the math from there.

But with Membership, you could see scintillating threads with provocative titles like: -Inductor Spacing Does Size Matter? -Soldering Stations -Modeling Musical Electronics in SPICE! -Mono Block Power Amps? -Ultralight Pedalboard from Scrap -Q-Tuner pickups may be back again-Improved! -Updated pics! Tom Bowlus in his Cult Underwear!?!

Lol! SOLD! Haha!

As far as the comment about the email only... It was said earlier in the thread that you should introduce youself and GIVE A LITTLE INFO ABOUT YOURSELF. So yeah. That happened. Like I said before, it was just about the delievery on this thread.

No one has to give out phone, address, SSN, or any other stuff. Not even a real name. :) There's no info farming or selling going on. I will say that there IS a thread stickied that I started to encourage people to donate by paypal. Its not required, not emphasized, but I thought if anyone has benefited from the cabs, from the discussion, from the messageboard...or from a late night call from greenboy to help them troubleshoot or understand the designs...they might want to donate for the cause. :crying:

There is no evil empire.

We all know that people pay real money for your information. If you tell someone that they are lazy just because they are unwilling to freely give up thier information should raise some serious red flags with anyone. This IS the internet.

Yeah, I gotcha. But it has nothing to do with unwilling, and everything to do with "Um, it's already posted, you mean you want me to go fetch it for you too? Are you gonna need the entire thread with it for context?"

Honestly, I haven't followed a whole lot of the fEARful discussion here at Talk Bass, because it seems that the opinions here are far too polarized on the subject. People are awful quick to make accusations and call it a cult and all that jazz. I didn't know much about them until about a year ago, and I wanted information without all of the riff-raff that was going on here, so I took a minute to sign up for the Greenboy forum and posted an introductory post. Just sign up there and you'll see that nobody is pushy, and everyone is quite receptive to the new people, regardless of their previous knowledge on any subject. No pitches involved, just info that's freely available to anyone willing to take the time to look for it. Also, I believe BFM previously stated in this thread that there were no sub-forums or a search function available... The forum DOES has both a search engine and sub-forums. I did a search and found the charts that Burning Skies posted in a matter or seconds. And as many have stated, it's best to check one out for yourself if possible. They really are worth a try.

My only hesitation in posting charts is, with a variety of different ones, and no 'official' ones, I don't know which are better than others, and the different circumstances for each of them. Taken out of context its hard to verify whether they're doing any good or doing harm.

Splitting hairs here....

Personally it really doesnt matter to me that much. Im just surprised that all you guys are wondering why someone new just wouldnt trust you. Ya dig??

Who's unwilling to give up information?
Hell i don't even have any information. If i was in 1st i would have said 'go to the forum'. i'm not hiding anything! :hiding:

People are simply saying 'LOOK the info is over there....have at it.'
Well now! the never! I have never! I simply refuse! to register for a forum and look myself! the nerve of some people! :D

These are DIY'ers. They ....Do It Themselves... they are not asking for someone to hold thier proverbial hands.

Once again, the very best way to get the information you're looking for is to go to the source (the fEARful forum) and ask these questions there. It's like having someone standing between you and a gorgeous woman and you're trying to close her on something, but you're not asking the woman, you're asking the person between you and asking THEM to ask her.

This is disingenuous. For almost every question about amps or cabinets on this forum, fearful owners are very quick to suggest the fearful designs as the only solution worth considering.
But when pressed for more info, all fingers point to other forums and nobody wants to do the work of deep linking to a graph.
:eyebrow:

But why should they, brother? They found honest, giving people on the forum and are simply telling you where they can be found :) These guys don't work for the 'company.' In fact, there really is no 'company,' just a bunch of DIY types sharing experiences...no controversy at all :)

It's NOT a religion. I think they're great, but some people may not like them. I'm not going to try to convince you to use them, so why should I (or anyone else) do extra work to get you information that you could easily get yourself? I'll point you to the book, but you have to read it.

Were you modeling in MS Paint again? Didn't we tell you that's not an effective software solution? :crying:

You know what other users do that? AMPEG. GK. MESA. Genz-Benz. And every other type of cabinet users.

Same with AMPS. Same with BASSES. 95% of Talkbass revolves around people telling others to use the gear THEY'RE enthusiastic about.

Or Barefaced. Audiokinesis. Maybe Baer. Our recollection of posts apparently differs to some degree.

And "nobody" wants to go to the official forum (singular, not plural) where a handful of various unofficial user-provided graphs are located in varying contexts, either. (Which one to use? Who knows.)

Oh wait, one guy did.

Come to think of it, I think I might've seen one of those graphs here, too. Yeah, pretty sure I did.

I guess our definitions of "nobody" differ, too. :D

Not without signing up. IMO that requirement is a shortsighted move. Not everyone looking for information is interested in signing up, or posting, they'd prefer to lurk and glean what information they can.
