fEARful community? Is it like a cult? Do I have to wear fancy headgear?

From someone casually looking into this thread, it does seem odd that while people will post all manner of data about everything bass, they are hesitant to post what the OP is requesting if it is already out there somewhere...:confused:

That said, perhaps there are reasons I'm overlooking, but I can understand the OP's confusion.

No headgear, but we do have special underwear. ;)

Actually, I've cross posted at least one frequency analysis here on TB, but don't have the time right now to do the digging. It wasn't mine, but came from someone working with some crossover iterations on a 1515/66. I can't remember the poster who did the analysis off hand. I would do it myself, but don't have the facilities or gear to do so effectively.

Its already been posted on the GB forum, and its probably been posted here as well previously in one of thousands of posts on fEARfuls. As I said, Im currenly using a cell phone at work, so Im not going to dig through and find a picture and cross post it. Either way if I did it would be out of context, and its not my place to cross post a whole thread to explain one pic. It makes a lot more sense to go and find the thread on the GB forums, which is what I have already directed. Getting yer panties all in a bunch over having to register is silly. I dont want to give you a piece of the pie, I want you to get the whole thing.

Some of it is to encourage people to join and talk freely in the fEARful setting, since some people at TB aren't terribly even handed when it comes to fEARful critique. Otherwise, as some have pointed out, full FR charts are often misread and represented, especially when comparing to those of other companies where those charts may be doctored.

These are Foz's, and I can't claim to their precision or methodology. They also only go down to 100hz, since they're referring to the mids and above range for the discussion at that time.

I believe that's a 1515/66/1...not to be 'that guy' but the thread those pics came from on the forum are very cool and very revealing, even though he's mainly talking upper register stuff and crossover design...but in that thread, Foz was able to get a nearly, truly 'flat' sound with very little effort...

Malamute...there's an authorized builder in your neck of the woods named Don Barry...amazing dude and I'd be willing to bet he'd let you give a cab a good test drive :)

Once again, the very best way to get the information you're looking for is to go to the source (the fEARful forum) and ask these questions there. It's like having someone standing between you and a gorgeous woman and you're trying to close her on something, but you're not asking the woman, you're asking the person between you and asking THEM to ask her.

I agree entirely. Way more detail, info and input over there. But at the same time, no one's trying to 'hide' anything, so I figured I'd go and cut off that kind of talk. :)

Thanks, Burning Skies, for doing the simple thing.
Truth is simple, and fEarful is a great cab design (or set of designs) but sometimes the cult-ish feel does grate.
