Well, if one does not like the new SX headstock, there is always Squier or Jay Turser. Sure one is likely to pay a little more for a new bass, but I'd bet used can be found for a lot nicer price. Though I must admit, there are not a lot of used Turser basses for sale that I have ever seen.
As to the headstock being ugly. The SX headstock reminds me of several others that people do not complain of. Older Peavey, Carvin, Johnson and on and on....
