Help! I’m suffering from amp choice overload!

Amproid is a very devastating sickness. You will need to visit all the music store in your area and try all of the amps they have until you find the one that will fix your problem and that sometime is not working. Good luck and may the right amp be with you. :unsure:

Even better if they have many ABY switches to try all the amps together. Have them bring forth all the things and A/B them.

Then play only the first couple bars of pulling teeth and start back over right before it gets interesting. Or major scale in every key. The employees love it, they even well applaud when you leave, top notch service.

I read your post. There is one that is available for audition virtually nowhere that isn't on your list. I'm not one to usually use an amp on stage, but on a whim I bought an Ashdown CTM 300. I thought I'd just buy it, model it in my Kemper, and sell it on. The problem is it sounded so wonderful I think I'm going to keep it. If you're looking for a simple tube amp, I'd recommend considering it or one of its smaller CTM cousins. It is much smoother than the American offerings of 300 watt tube amps; creamy and not as rude sounding, which is a personal preference. As for cabs, I've tried it through several and it sounds wonderful through anything I've tried to date. (I've not yet tried it through a sealed cab, but it doesn't sound like you have room for a 610 or 810 sealed cab anyway.) It's as simple as they come. It doesn't have the widest range of tones and leans toward the darker side, but those tones it has it does well. Just one reporter's opinion...

So are the rest of us! Fun, ain't it? Buy/sell/repeat. It gets old but never too old.
It typically goes like this...Buy amp #1...WOW! NEW AMP! Then after a month...I wonder if amp #2 would sound better? Man it looks cool. Everybody seems to love it.
Think I'll buy one. Then, WOW! NEW AMP! Then after a month...I wonder if amp #3 would sound better? Everybody says it's the holy grail! Think I'll buy one!
Etc etc etc. It never ends, boss.

I had a similar problem . St. Louis is an ampeg and markbass town it seems like. I dont care for ampeg class d and markbass is a little too clean for my tastes. A friend of mine is endorsed by aguilar and had me try one of his rigs.since then I picked up a th350 and a th500. Don't sleep on the db212 4ohm cab. That cab and the th500 has that delicious wooly grind that I just love to death. With your passive basses this is where that aggie setup really shines IMHO
