As mentioned above, the highway one is a slightly different shade of blonde to the 50's classics but here's a gold feat. rosewood board on one of those for everybody's viewing pleasure...

I like the white on that color quite a bit. But if you insist on changing it, the Tort would be my favorite option.

I never knew a blonde who didn't benefit from lipstick. And while I usually could give a rat's ass about the appearance of any instrument there is something unique and really appealing to the rosewood pickguard.

I think the rosewood PG is unique and sets it off. Just a thought, if you really want to get loco. Find a Woodcraft or other wood store near you and see what crazy wood veneers they have. Anyone good with a router could use the original one to cut you one from the wood you picked out.

OP, you already said you like the rosewood one, why not go with that? I'd suggest a plastic laminate with a rosewood grain pattern for scratch resistance and overall aesthetic longevity though. Depending on your style, a real wood finish PG can get ugly quick.

Black looks best with maple fretboards, not so great with rosewood.

Rosewood or tort are the best options from my point of view and I used to work in design.

It's best to have no more than 2 or 3 colors and/or textures in most circumstances and rosewood on both the body and the neck would visually tie the instrument together best I think. Make sure it's a close match in color and finish.

But since it's talkbass it'd be a sin to not suggest tort as a good option too. And actually it is pretty good. I think it's the 2nd best choice.

My precision is painted as classical tricolor sunburst with tort pickguard, but in some moment of the future I'll be inclinated to have a black body with a very colored as cartoon pickguard...

The gold anodized goes great with a honey blonde 50's classic, but only because it has a maple board. It doesn't look good at all with a rosewood board.
The tort looks very nice. Black would be ok too.

So I recently just impulse bought my first Precision, this '06-'07 USA Highway One in "Honey Blonde". While I'm loving the bass, I'm not loving the appearance quite so much.
Ultimately I've been planning on swapping out the white pickguard for something else but can't seem to make up my mind... Since everybody loves polls I figured you might be willing to help! I've grabbed some images off google to help (thanks to the talkbass members these probably belong to).

I say gold. Pickguardian will make you a gold guard. It is clear plastic, painted gold on back to show through. I got one once and it was nice. You really need to send your guard to him to ensure a perfect fit.
