History Channel - Vikings

I commented on the season premier with my thoughts.
I haven't watched episode two yet. I go to bed before it even comes on.
I'll watch it Saturday afternoon.

Thumbs down from me on episode two. I didn't like watching Ragnar smack his wife around.

Yeah, I didn't dig the slap either, but for some reason I was more bothered by the way he's treating Floki.
I think Floki's treatment is fitting & the wife needed something to put her in line.
Lagertha would probably have stabbed him for it.

Power corrupts
He is seeing a path and ruthlessly follows it. It is this same stubborn trait that led Ragnar to cross the water to pillage England and France, so it is sort of in line with him.
No one likes domestic violence, but it probably went on, she is a major pain in the bum and undermines him at every stage, and he is always twisted in emotion knowing that he should not have crapped on Lagertha.
Raping etc. In game of thrones, it's not right but it happened, not sure if there was a thread on it, but were there any complaints.
So far as Floki, well he would not have done it if his bonehead son had not arrested him, but he has to do something or appear weak as a leader.
Tough times, tough leadership right or wrong when people are looking to dethrone you or smell weakness, it's not like you can go to HR and say he made an inappropriate comment in the workplace and is then put in gardening leave whilst it is investigated.

Partly, but also because Floki's faith is so strong. He always considered priest as a corrupting force as well as a wedge between friends.
On another note, I really dig the one-eared gal. Too early to remember her name, but I remember she is one sweet Pop Tart.
I'm sure at some point Ecbert is going to find out Athelstan is dead. It will be interesting to see how that plays out. Judith is clearly enamored with Athelstan, so maybe she goes back to Ecbert and demands that Athelstan be her teacher instead of Prudentius.

I am waiting to see what Floki is going to do next. Wonder if he will sell out Ragnar, be a team player, or exile himself. Supposedly, the real Floki the raven is the one who discovered Iceland.
It also appears that this season is a double order with 20 episodes instead of ten. First 10 airing early this year, and the last 10 airing later (I assume fall) of this year.

Oh, it's back? One minor detail I never anticipated when I moved to streaming only... Having no commercials or program guide or DVR I miss new seasons starting, new episodes airing, and new shows' teasers. First world problem if there ever was one...
I still maintain an OTA antenna, but none of those channels are going to alert me to the season premiere of Vikings or Better Call Saul.
