History Channel - Vikings

I think the asian chick is Aslaugs spy, or atleast she is getting him high to weaken him so Aslaug can gain power. Seems to me Ragnar and his wife pretty much despise each other now!

If they follow real history, or the one or two scenarios about the death of Ragnar, it's the snake pit, or dysentary. I can't imagine Aslaug will have anything to do with it, but it does seem to me that the she sent Ragnar to the Asian chick. She told him to "spend time with her" that she wouldn't be jealous. Those drugs she is giving Ragnar are driving him mad. Lets hope he is still our Ragnar and that he has something up his sleeve. We've been fooled before thinking he had lost the upper hand, and in the end we get a surprise.

What was that vision/scene with Floki and Aslaug and Habard? Floki some how psychically felt her as she was with Habard. They've never been particularly connected.

This has had me smiling for a week. She looks a little better with the new hairdo though.

This "drug" that Ragnar is hooked on- is that why it looks like he's been drinking cherry Koolaid or has bleeding gums? And I'm really lost when it comes to the freaky cowgirl scene with the wanderer/Floki/queen. Too cerebral for this lower-thinking primate.

Yes Rollo's ugly wife does look better, since they consummated their marriage for sure. I bet we will end up liking her in the end. She seems interested in Shield Maidens and she seems to want to meet Lageratha.

Yes...I wonder too about the red staining around his lips. Opium is red isn't it?? Has that nutty woman got him hooked on opium?? Lets hope Ragnar will make a come back! I am not ready to let his character go yet.

I just re-watched the most recent episode. Whose head was that that Ragnar was talking to at the end?

Thanks in advance, and apologies if I misused "whose".

I went back over and over on that screen, even froze it and looked up close. I can't tell. I don't think it's anyone in particular.

I am curious to see who it is that Ragnar is shown attempting to drown in the river. Harald or his brother? One of his kids to scare them? Floki? Erlender? Frenchman?

-Mike

Wow! Not to give anything away, but that Asian woman should not have tried to blackmail him. Rollo just became the big deal in France, and honestly at this point he is my favorite character. Odo...well seems the Emperor played him. What is going on in England is now starting to shape up a bit. One thing you have to say about Floki, his love for his wife is the most devout love shown in the Viking camp, or Kattegat.

Well, alrighty then. Time to trim the cast episode.
I know the time is coming when characters I like will die, but the two from last night were fine with me.
I like how the writing in the show left us wondering how much of Ragnar killing Yidu did his sons see.
The scene with Odo calling out Rollo and Roland backing him, that didn't even seem believable. The king said a few episodes ago he was going to get rid of Odo.
Ecbert and Wessex still has zero draw for me. I don't like any of the angles. Once Ragnar returns, maybe I'll change my mind.
Same goes with Harbard. I just don't dig that guy at all. Maybe Sigurd will hack him up with his axe.

But oh dang. I about fell out of my chair when Erlender tagged Bjorn with that arrow. I felt like running to his aid too.

Yeah, I am with you on the Wessex stuff. I hope the angles we see now will unravel into something interesting...then if not, then they can leave England out until Alfred the Great is grown. If Ecbert unites Wessex and Mercia and has a combined force prepared for both Northumbria and Ragnar...then we may see Ragnar in the same situation that is his currently facing in France. With being outnumbered and tactically at a disadvantage. I really wish they had not re-introduced Harbard again. What do you guys think of the Norwegian brothers, and their approaches?

Another thing to pay attention to. Alfred has been sent on a pilgrimage to Rome at a young age. Notice how Ivar is being taught the ways of the gods by Floki on the queens insistence. Those who know about Alfred the Great vs. the Great Heathen army will understand the significance of this.

Did anyone think Torvi was going to kill Bjorn? I sure didn't.
What I was expecting though was for someone else to jump in front of Bjorn and take the arrow for him. I'm bummed though they killed off Erlendur. That story line was good, unlike this crap with Wessex.
I still think somehow Rollo and Ragnar reunite.

No. He slept with that guy, Roland.

-Mike

Didn't see that coming. Isn't the guy who plays Roland also the guy from the movie "Kingdom of Heaven" who gives the main character his horse back?

On a side note, I am afraid that Rollo may get killed next week. They didn't stay with history and had Odo killed. The real Odo actually did become Emperor for a short time. Now that Rollo's wife is pregnant, his legacy can live on, and Ragnar can get his revenge, which is what I think a lot of the fans want. Honestly, I am pulling for the French at this point. Ragnar is a drug addict, Harald and his brother are arrogant, Bjorn, and Lagertha need to be checked.

I've been rewatching the first season and was reminded of Floki's pyromania streak and that Rollo had some pretty severe scars that healed nicely.

I think Ragnar will soon meet his maker and that's why they're bringing King Aela (sp?) back into a fresher storyline. He swore in the first season to kill Ragnar in that pit.

I hate to say it, but that new haircut on Roman Polanski's daughter works for me.

What are the chances that this extended season is going to be it for this show? or at least, over for Ragnar?

Somehow starting over and following the two story lines makes me think that by episode 19 or 20, they'll be back in England and Ragnar will be swimming with the serpents.

Did anyone catch the nods between Bjorn and Ragnar after Torvi killed Erlander?? I think they both knew Erlander was going to try to kill Bjorn, especially after Torvi identified the ring Bjorn took off the berserker dude. So Bjorn says all those nice things to Torvi, telling her how strong she is, and that he was attracted to her because he saw a wildness in her. He pours it all on thick, knowing it is all she has wanted to hear, from him or any man for that matter. So that when the time came, she would chose to kill Erlander instead of Bjorn. Now neither of them have to do it, and Torvi did it for them, to save her son and because she feels like of the two men, Bjorn respects her more.

I wonder if the whole reason he goes back to get Torvi after his experience in the wilderness, is to figure out if the berserker was connected with Horik's family. Very clever!

It won't be it for the show because they announced season 5 will happen. They are ending next week with this 10 episodes, and will start up again in the fall with another 10. So we don't have to wait over a year which is cool. A shorter break between each series of 10 this year. :)
