History Channel - Vikings

Check History channel tonight. Usually on Tuesday nights they start showing some good trailers for Thursday's episode. Here is the summary for this weeks episode, titled Unforgiven:
King Horik returns to Kattegat with a surprising proposition for Ragnar. Lagertha runs into a less than enthusiastic homecoming from her new husband. Athelstan, struggling with his own inner demons, becomes confidant to King Ecbert.

My good heavens is Aslaug pregnant again already???

I love that Ragnar always has either a child or a baby goat in his lap. They have done such a great job casting his kids, they all look like they totally could be their off spring. Both with Bjorn and with this little one I don't know his name yet. He looks like his mama.

This occurred last week - unless you are talking about something else. Last week at the very end..... Lagertha is home, her husband is whining about her not bringing Bjorn back, says it's an insult. His final words to her in prescence of the full court are,"you'll be sleeping alone tonight, I've made other arrangements." Guess he's still having trouble drawing a deep breath.:crying::spit:

I'd mentioned this before - seems in different local markets the first minute may be pre-empted by commercials, and the last few as well. Those trailers and the quick recap at the beginning of each episode are supposed to bring us up to speed. I guess.

OT - I just don't find Aslaug that attractive compared to Lagertha. That's it.

I think they are calling the little one snake-eye. That is freeeeeeeeeak-ay!

I don't remember seeing the trailer that you describe last week. I'll BOLO for trailers after this week's episode. I do believe that there was a recap at the beginning, however.

Same here. The episode presented to me did not have that at the end.

But hey, I am sure it expounds more on it this week than the little bit you mentioned.

It wasn't the trailer. That is where last weeks episode ended in our local market. But if you watch it the next day via "On Demand" the episodes are frequently snipped at one end or the other. Wife and I have both noticed this. I'm assuming it is to fit in whatever commercials have been sold locally. Different days of the week as well as time slot can change prices on any network incredibly. I've placed TV spots for my brother, it's a odd biz.

I understood what you meant. What I'm saying is 1) I didn't see that ending on the episode in my market, and 2) I hope they go more into that storyline than what you saw at the end of the episode shown in your market.

I told my wife about this when she got home (I work from home). We went and watched it of the Tivo (she's been recording it for some reason) - ah, they ran the trailer right after the episode, but before running the credits. At different times of the week it gets split up differently - today the trailer is only available in my market as a separate item. I had it wrong, if you have seen the trailer you have seen Lagertha gets dissed by old Busta-Groans and some of the other interaction with Horik and Ragnar and Atlasan. Schtupid as i may feel, I don't want to perpetuate a non-reality. Beat me, forgive me and let's enjoy the Vikings.:crying:

Oh good....because I watch it on line and it ended with Lagertha riding away on a beautiful white horse. So I hope we see her homecoming this week. I did see in the description on line some where that she comes home to a very grumpy husband. Then I was able to hunt down the coming attractions for this weeks episode and she gets out of bed and goes to the door at night, as if she is up to something.

The bummer about watching on line is they never put coming attractions for the next weeks episode on there. I have to wait until like Tues or Weds and find it through various outlets around the internet.

I purposely don't own a t.v because in general most t.v is crap and you can get things online easily enough. I would rather be playing my guitar, reading, hanging with friends, going for a run etc..than watch t.v but this show has be totally riveted!!

I was lucky to come upon it just a few months ago so I could do the marathon watching of season 1 without waiting between weeks. This whole waiting week to week stinks!!

I agree with you totally. I think we don't find her as interesting as Lagertha because...well she isn't! She is a pretty face with not much else going for her. She comes across as a bit stuck up. To me beauty comes from the whole package. Not just the face.

Yes the little baby is Siegert Snake in the Eye but this older fellow on Ragnar's lap, in that photo above, I don't know his name. The new baby with the freaky blue eye is Seigert after her father. She did introduce the other two to Lagertha and I can't remember their names. They don't really exist for me yet.

I totally agree with the waiting sucking. I don't watch much T.V. - probably less than an hour a week if averaged over the year. But i have got sucked into Vikings big time. I also like the show "Copper" which is on BBC America.....one of the prime characters until he was killed off was same guy who plays King Horik. My late father always said T.v. was the "idiot box" - I largly agree but something that comes close to actual history is pretty darn intriguing.

Hey, you threw out "game on" - I am totally good on you coming out ahead on the plots sister, I'm not blaming the player, not even the game. Enjoy!!! And kick my butt!!:D

HAHA! Ok my friend Siggy's story line was the one we debated right? We shall see!

Yes...historical fiction always gets me. They are doing a very fine job with this one.

I hope King Horik goes the way of the fellow in your other show! Dude is trouble....serious trouble and from the coming attractions it looks like Ragnar actually takes the bait of pulling Borg back in!!!! ABSURD!! Is there no one else in all of Scandinavia who has boats and men to spare?? I know they are short some boats and lost a lot of men to the sea and to Borg and in England but there must be someone else, anybody else!!

Horik is all pissy and cuts Borg out for the skirmish at the end of season 1 but it is okie dokie with him that Borg killed half of Kattegut and then tried to nestle in there?? How can Ragnar trust either of them? Horik doesn't care about any one but himself. And now he is in bed with Siggy!! They are all harboring ill will, and it would take very little for any of those three to turn against either each other or Ragnar.

Bring me the head of the writer of the show!! ;) (kidding..)

I don't trust Siggy....

Also, Floki is played by Gustaf Skarsgård...He is Alexander Skarsgård's brother (Eric Northman on True Blood)...

LOVE Floki!!!! He is about the only one I trust not to betray Ragnar. His character is just wonderful!!!! I didn't know what to think of him at first, but really, I just think he is wonderful.

Floki is my favorite character on the show. Gustaf Skarsgård is a terrific actor and he gave life to a uniqu character. Floki is so disturbing at times that I think I'd face Rollo instead of Floki if it came down to it.:p

I also don't trust Siggy, I don't trust women. Or men...anyone... :D But yea Siggy gives the vibe that she's not trust worthy.

But I like her, (Siggy) I just don't get her. How can she have lost her husband, her children, her throne, married a very messed up Rollo (although he is coming along nicely now) etc...she is like a coiled snake I predict she is gonna cause some trouble at some point

Of course she will, if she doesn't I'll cut my wrists.:p

ps: Don't remind me this in case she doesn't.:atoz::D

Siggy:first husband was a tool, child died from an illness that took many, the throne was not much better than the average shack. Rollo - I think it is part she thinks he's decent man-material and part she thnks/dreams that he could elevate both of their standing if he just had a good woman behind him. I think Ragnar and certainly Lagertha treated Siggy with utmost respect after Ragnar killed her husband (whom she didn't shed a tear over). I think the main thing that would drive Siggy to do something dastardly is Ragnar's holding of Rollo at arm's length. I don't think Rollo wants to turn against his brother again, it shattered his own internal image of himself as a worthy individual. Rollo's not ready to be the man Siggy would like him to be, imo.

But hey, I hope the story line surprises me.

I second the thought that Siggy could park her slippers next to my mat anytime.
