I have a '12 Ignition Club and I have taken it off. I didn't like it as well, so I keep it on. I have it off on both Beatle basses though. Just my opinion...

Hofner-(not just Beatle Basses)-Group Part 2

Why didn't you like it? Are the screw holes left behind really big? I'd imagine I can put the screws back in but I think that would look silly.
I just thought it was dressing that the bass needed. It's essentially the same body as all the Les Pauls around. Many of them remove there PGs, and none of them have a pearl PG. I just think it is an added touch that identifys the Club.
I took the pickguard off....nothing to it....I prefer the way it looks without the pickguard.....
It's beautiful. That's why we all have different noses and ears. Everyone sees things differently. I have a lot of other instruments without PG's and I kind of like this one on and pearl.
Anyone having trouble with fitting tapperwounds on 500/1 CT?
Seeing that it comes with rounds, and quickly changed to flats, cause those are to my liking, but I was contemplating putting on some rotosound tapperwounds, but I am not shure if I will be able to mount them in the tuners - i know that I'll have to widen the slots in the "nut" to get them through, but if any of you fine people has any experience to share - please do. All the best - T

Not from personal experience, but this guy on youtube had a CT with tapewounds for a while.
He did a ton of beatles bass covers. Username was "kocchu" I beleive. Or something extremely close.

Thanks! I've searched far and wide on the internet to see if anyone has ever done wild custom painting on a hofner and I haven't found anything. I guess I'm the first!
My inspiration (for the three colours) was the magical mystery tour era of the Beatles, specifically the Hello goodbye video. But I've always been a fan and enjoyed doing drip paint stuff, I figured it was only appropriate to give a go.

I've been considering moving up my pickup on my CT to cavern spacing.
I'm unable to get a good sound of the bridge pickup, so does the cavern sound better with the pickup moved?

Is this an easy mod? Does it expand the range of tones?
I've actually been considering just disconnecting the bridge pup and wiring a volume and tone control to the neck, the bridge pup is useless to me. (which is why I may move it up to cavern spacing and mode the controls)
If you have more, I'd absolutely love to see them.
