Hofner outselling Fender

If I had a Hofner, and was thinking about selling it, now's a good time to do so.

Check that...maybe list it a month-or-two ago. Hofner owners may be thinking about selling while the "iron is hot".

I mentioned this a few times, but I'll do it again. It is not the used Hofners that are outselling the Fenders. It is a brand new model. So new Hofner models. You should get on the bandwagon before it's too late.

My bad.

Just had a hip replaced today and my brain is still in fogland.

Good for Hofner!

Yes, they're probably selling because of this guy...

...moreso than any other bass played by any other bassist, Geddy Lee included.
It's been that way for decades.
Some people simply have to have the bass their idol played.
Why?
Who knows?
I mean, I really can't believe people will think owning such a bass will make them play like Paul, or Geddy Lee, or John Entwistle etc, or that their desire is to actually sound like another bassist, but hey, what do I know.
All I know is that I've made it a point not to buy a signature bass for a signature sound.

Could happen. I don't think Hofner and Vox are in the same category when it comes to bass, though. Hofner is consistently ranked in the top ten bass concepts of all time. Plus I think their numbers have been steady over the years. Of course, The Beatles played a big role in ensuring the longevity of Hofner but they did that for instruments companies.

That recent video, and all the chatter on the web. It's more than I would have guessed, and compare that to the total amount of talk about Fab 4 in the last 20 years.

It's time for a reset and less hype about them/ commercially driven or otherwise. Those guys were born close to 80 years ago, enough already.
