Horror movies

This weekend I finally watched The Thing. Why have I not seen this movie yet? Because I am a moron thats why. Killer flick.

Also watched Vacancy and I was pleasantly surprised. I really liked it. The suspense was very well done. Kept me on the edge of me seat. I would watch it again.

Oh I also saw Argento's "Mother of Tears". The third part in the Suspiria - Inferno series. I don't know... some parts were pretty good. A few parts got a little crazy. Asia's acting is bit sad. It was ok but overall I was disappointed.

Yes, absolutely. One of the better Criterion releases. If you're a fan of the movie, you will love all the extras.

Thanks for the feedback sir. I'll be sure to get that on order.

In other news, I watched Swamp Thing last night. During the opening credits I see the music composer is Harry Manfredini. I'm thinking, "Hey cool, never noticed that before." Half way through the movie I was convinced that he ripped off his own score from Friday the 13th for his score in Swamp Thing. They're so similar it's ridiculous.

Cool deal. I also picked up Last house in a 2 DVD package deal way back at Tower Records before they went under. Such a shame, Tower was definitely more expensive but their horror/cult section was pretty good.

The best selection around here these days is at Best Buy. Sad, but true.

So.....Other than the ripoff soundtrack, how was the movie?

I really tried to like that movie......couldn't.....Hate it......but LOVE "The Devil's Rejects"

He really came around with his second flick as a director. "House" was just all over the place, like he wanted to throw as much **** against the wall and see what stuck.

I feel exactly the same.

Not to be an echo but thats a good way of summing up my thoughts on "House" as well. I was on board at the beginning. He set up a pretty cool atmosphere and all that but by the end I felt like I had enough.

OK ... Nobody liked it but me - I get it :hmm: The "Rejects" was good, but I wish Karen Black was in it like the 1st. The guy selling chickens cracked me up! :D

I was bummed when Jodie Foster wasn't in "Hannibal" either after "Silence". Leslie, and Julianne did a great job, but it just didn't seem the same.

Cloverfield is a GREAT flick- best monster movie I can remember seeing in a very long time.

I also just saw the "His Name Was Jason" documentary and it is indeed great.

I would like to have seen Foster in Hannibal as well- it was a pretty good flick, but it didn't relate to the first one very well in her absence. The Hannibal Rising movie was pretty much a "meh."

I've put off buying Cloverfield because everyone around here says it sucked.

Overall, I wasn't impressed with Hannibal, partly because the absence of Ms. Foster, but it still wasn't anywhere near as good as Silence.

I still hate Jason Goes To Hell :D I'm not a big fan of Jason X either though. Anyone notice that Jason is totally copping a feel when he's shoving the blonde into the liquid nitrogen stuff? An uncut part 7 would be great, although unlikely.
