Since this thread seems to be going in that direction, all I'll say is back in the day my beard looked like a glazed donut.
Now I'm a married salaryman with 2 kids and a house on a quiet street. Life's arc is indeed curious.

That said, if you really wanna pull the gals (or the gents) a bike or a dog is at least as good as an axe.

I'm happily married now, but back in the day me and my band mates used to have a good time at our shows. I was never much into sleeping around, but it was fun meeting new women every night. Sometimes more happened, of course. Fortunately, most of it happened pre-internet (and definitely pre-Facebook, Twitter, etc.). That being said, I don't miss those days at all.

A. Be careful what you wish for. Very, very careful.

B. No matter how hot or beautiful a woman is, someone, somewhere is tired of her crap.

C. Remember, you are a Bassist. You are there for the music, not the women. That women drama/nonsense is for the singer to worry about.

A. I can agree with only because when it rains it pours. One year, nothing. One week, 3 at once! This can certainly cause you trouble.

B. Probably but not always.

C. Ummm no ;) Enjoy before you're old!!:woot:

I met the woman of my dreams when I was 14. The 'courtship,' such as it was, was her saying to me after we both wound up taking with each other at a couple of school dances: "Look - we both know we're in love. Do we really need to go through a year of playing games with each other before we admit it to ourselves?" All I said was: "No." And that was that. So there you go. Possibly the shortest courtship in history.

That was in 1970. We've been together exclusively ever since. Even when we were away at different colleges.

Never having been single, I avoided all the dating games and hook-ups most of my friends went through before (some) found the right one. That's something for which I've been eternally grateful I sidestepped. And being naturally monogamous by temperament, I can't say I was ever tempted enough to run around. Even in my early band days.

I like other women just fine. And I generally enjoy the company of women. Truth is, I have quite a few female friends. But that's what they are. And both they and I appreciate the complete lack of "pressure" in our friendships.

Pretty good deal if you ask me.

It's been said that men only think about and want 'one thing.' And to some extent I think that's probably true. But in my case, that 'one thing" also happens to be one person.

And that works for me. YMMV. ;)

I'm a dork, so only bad girls like me (no idea why it works that way). My wife is my best friend, so I never have any temptation.

Dork can work. Don't knock it. Same for geek. Geek girls are my favorites, truth be told.

I don't attract the attention of bad girls. But I do seem to be somebody who the supposedly "difficult" and "complex" ones seem to gravitate towards. Which is all good AFAIC. I'll take brains, and depth, and a little bit of attitude & crankiness over simple good looks any day of the week. Good looking people are legion in this country - and most of the world when you get right down to it. People who are genuine human beings are harder to come by in my experience.

The last time I was hit on at a gig turned out pretry cool, at least I thought so.
As the night went on we talked and shared some drinks. She pretty, and very smart. She could hold her Jack. The kicker came when She was telling me this is all well and good, but there will be no sleeping together tonight. I said no problem your not my type. She said oh someone who can drink and is smart? I said no SINGLE
