Didn't really occur to me now, but this was a "Care to share" thread.
Been there done that, well sort of at least. Two years of teaching at a university in N.E. China and yes even though English is officially the second language it's a tough uphill battle to get many students interested. I stuck with the boss's plan and had only 10% of the students get an A, 20% B, a large percent maybe 40% a C, 20% a D and 10% an F. I almost always let the students that got an F move up to a D if they could make a good enough oral and written presentation as to why it should be allowed. Surprisingly my skull was never split in two, I don't think I could ever do that job again.I don't hate my job, but it's not my dream job either. I teach English in Japan, which is almost like trying to teach cats to bark. Japan has the lowest English test scores and profiency in Asia. One 45 minute class per week isn't going to help anyone learn a foreign language, but that's what the Board of Education feels is sufficient.
The pay is decent, I have excellent health benefits for my family and I, and I get a month and a half paid vacation in the summer.
I guess it's not that bad really...
