Man! Guys that's just not fair! (Yeah, I'm one of those student types as well...) All I've got is my Peavey combo... :(

Student nothing! So am I, and look at the gear I have/have owned. It's all about financial responsibility (or lack thereof, really), and working hard to get what you want.

Believe it or not, I agree with you! When I was in college, my rig was a Peavey TNT 150, and it got me through 3-4 shows per week for several years, until I could upgrade to my first "rack rig" (BBE 383 and Audio Centron power amp). I worked about 30 hours per week throughout my higher education (in addition to the gigging), and for many years after, I had to scrimp and save and do with whatever gear I had. I have been really fortunate of late, and business is going better than I could have expected, so yes, the "toys" are piling up. But it really is important to take care of things like good credit, mortgage payments, retirement, kids' education, etc., and I wholeheartedly support your words of caution. Believe it or not, I am taking care of those other things before I "blow" money on another cab. ;) And, I have been fortunate to buy at good prices, so with the few items I have sold, I have not had to realize a loss.

I agree. Feel free to check out my profile if you choose. Then add the fact that I'm only a junior in High School. I look at all of the people my age who have crappy gear, and complain that they can't afford it. THen I look at all of the clothes, nice cars, video games, and other stuff they have that costs lots of money.

Oh. Right now I've got an Ampeg BA-112 (it's sitting outside right now, I'm going to get it momentarily), and an SVT Pro4 (coming next week). Now to find a cab......

I do seem to be collecting things lately.

Peavey Deltabass head
Peavey TKO 115 combo
Ampeg SVT3 Pro head
Peavey Max Preamp (and if we're counting preamps also, does the Sans Amp BDDI count?)

These are being used with my lone (for now) Peavey 115 BX Black Widow cab.

Wow. I have one amp... a Gorilla B30. (I think) It's really horrible though; it pops and cackles whenever I play... so I usually practice unplugged. For gigs, I'm lucky enough to always know someone with a decent amp that I can borrow

I'd really love to buy myself a small, solid setup but I'm a bit broke and my parents won't let me get a job. grades in college is the priority according to them (and they're right)

Dude, good for you!!! At least you are smart enough to go to college. I got out of HS and partied for 20 more years before the bell rang, and I smartened up.!!

For gigging I'm down to 2 rack rigs. Current configurations:

#1:
Read Purity
Rane DC-24 dynamic controller
Stewart World 2.1

#2:
Furman PL-Plus
SansAmp RBI
tc electronics 1140 Parametric EQ
Stewart World 2.1

I also have a Fender Bassman 25 combo for home rehearsal, and an Ampeg SVP-Pro preamp which I install into a rack rig from time to time.

I was wondering how many amps some of you guys own? I don't know if I'm crazy or not but I own more amps than basses. I currently own an AMPEG BA115AV, AMPEG SVT IV PRO, AGUILAR DB750 and an AGUILAR GS410. Am I nutz or do any of you own multiple amps/rigs too. Thanks

Joey, I'd say you're not nuts at all, you 'like to have options' ;) . I currently have 3 amps; my Roland DB500 practice amp, a G-K1001RB 2-10" combo and my Read Purity/Crest/Bergantino big rig. I'd actually like to have at least one more amp; a vintage SVT stack. I think it would also be a smart move for me to buy a small high-wattage solid-state head to take as a backup to gigs. Maybe a G-K1001RB or Thunderfunk.

Hi fellas

Seems like too many - 5 setups plus one head - two weak hands.
Here is my list :

1. Peavey Mark III with 1810 cab both '70-'80, but not played anymore
2. SWR RedHead with Basic2Way extension mid '90s
3. Ampeg SB-12 '65 FlipTop
4. Ampeg B-15S '70s FlipTop
5. Ampeg SVT '72 with 8x10 cab mid '70s
plus Ampeg V4 '72 head to go with Basic2Way

+1 I love Ampeg & Aguilar stuff
Are we the same person?

Funny thing, right after I ordered my GS410, I saw the one you were selling and I wanted to cry. LOL
