Added this 2008 Dean Hardtail Bass to my brood this past Monday.

34", active, EMG-HZ, V/V/B/M/T, neck-thru, brass nut, Maple Top, Mahogany Body, Mahogany neck.
I am really liking this. I was able to set the action quite low with the monolithic bridge system. Has flats which I thought was a bit odd of a choice for this bass by the previous owner.

At 35 now.

Do these all come with that color pick guard and white type inlays? I really like it. I swear I saw these with a white pick guard and black inlays which I am not too keen on...just not me, but what is posted is really sweet!

Thanks guys. I changed out the White Pearloid PG, that was standard on it, for the Fender Black Motto PG on it now. This one is a USA Geddy Lee Jazz. The Black Blocks are on the Mexican Geddy Lee Jazz.

The yellow Dean is pretty wild!
Yeah I was supposed to get it for Christmas from my family and had it ordered, but the seller cancelled for " technical reason" yeah I don't know what that means either, however I come to find that same week Dean discontinued the yellow one, so my guess was he was trying to get more money for it, because when I started looking for another one the prices were unreasonably high one I found soon after was nearly $400.00 US, unbelievable considering it was 199.00 new. But hey that is human nature right. So I waited and the prices started to get to a realistic range. I got mine at a great price in excellent condition, at GC. Again did I need 15 basses? No, but my loving family has little options when buying the bass playing guy in the house a Christmas gift. The last 3 I got were gifts and unexpected for the most part. The Les Paul the one before this one, the wife saw someone playing on TV and called me into the bedroom and said, I love it why don't you get one like that and the same color, How can you argue with that :) The only thing I ask of them is nothing overly expensive, yes I would love a top of the line bla, bla, bla, but as a weekend warrior all my basses are workhorse that do a job.

here is total group shot :)

A underwhelming 3 basses so far with many more to come in the future.

a Dean Edge? (I think it's an edge, my first bass.. Got it when I was in middle school.. I'm going on 30 now..)
Curcio Custom Jazz Bass
Ibanez Mikro Bass

I don't know if I've answered the previous version of this topic years ago, when the GAS was rampant and the answer would have been anything from 3-7... but currently I have just one bass, and might get a second if I find a good fit.

I took a detour to my first instrument (guitar), and pretty much sold almost everything bass related that I didn't need for live gigs. Luckily the one I ended up with is a good one (Hamer USA).

Uprights were my only thing for a long time. But I've branched out for last few years and am now very much enjoying these rag-tag beauties as occasional alternatives to the big basses... Not your average collection. Just 1 solid body (single piece!) among a load of hollow joy.

'59 Kay K5965 .. '59 Dallas Tuxedo (Mo Foster style scratch plate fitted) ... '63 Jolana Basora ... '65 Kay K5920 'Speed Demon' ... '65 Hofner President ... '65 Kay K5961 Value Leader ... '65 Harmony H-22.

This is on the Very short list of ‘most beautiful posts I’ve ever seen on BassFace!’.
Well, cheers. Good to see someone else appreciate them. Bring me great pleasure, and all played live. Just not as much as the uprights (37 King Mortone, 38 Kay M2 and a 60s B+H)!
