one electric, one acoustic (technically an acoustic-electric but that part doesn't work right now).

I'm thinking of auctioning off my Fender, then get one with a maple fretboard.

Recently picked up a steal on a used Ibanez SG1205. Never was a fan of the lower end SG line, but these higher end ones are great! Neck-through design, great feel and active Bartonelli pickups & EQ. Love this bass!

Couldn't be happier! Considering selling the custom, as it now just sits & collects dust while it watches me play the new baby lol - I'll miss it, but not sure if it's worth keeping.

Not that I'm nosy but it looks like you have a pool table in your kitchen there. That's kind of cool!

Electric basses, I'm currently down to two. As a professional player, I have my main player, a Status S2-Classic and for a more vintage woody tone, I have a Classic Series Music Man Sabre. I'm currently about to order another Status, but they are my mainstay instruments. Nothing fits or sounds better to me.

At one point a few years ago, I had seventeen basses - Lots of buying, collecting and trading was going on, but I still favoured my main bass.

I have most tones covered with the two I have, the new one I'm ordering will add an extra dimension, and then all I need is that elusive perfect Jazz bass. Then I'm done for the next few years.

In terms of double basses, I have four, including a Ron Prentice bass for classical work, an old 19th century German bass and a modern Chinese/Canadian model with a pickup for a Big Band work. For small jazz jobs I have a Warwick a triumph electric upright too.

I have no desire to go back to the heady days of mass collections, but the additional two electric basses will give me all the tones I could ever need.

Now, what about one of those new Gibson EB's? Aaarrrggghhh!

Under construction:
65 P neck, sonic blue aftermarket P body, 71 P pup.

Will probably sell the Ibby...

Five basses, as follows:

1.) 4-string Stambaugh custom neck-through with a pair of Kent Armstrong "lipstick tube" pickups.

2.) Stambaugh 33" scale 5-string bolt-on "silver seductress", with three Aero Jazz-style single-coil p'ups.

3.) Stambaugh custom 6-string neck-through with a 32" scale.

4.) Custom Warrior Isabella 5-string bolt-on that my fabulous wife bought for my birthday a couple of years ago.

5.) Last - but far from least - a great Fender Custom Shop '64 P-Bass "Relic" with GHS Precision Flatwound strings on it.

Main axe is '78 Rickenbacker 4001, an Ovation Celebrity Acoustic CC174, a Gretsch Electromatic G2202 Junior Jet, and a Bridgecraft el cheapo P-bass. -- Just got the Ovation for $99.99 with a nice case, and it's a surprisingly cool instrument for the used price. It's 1996, only made for 2 years, originally retailed for nearly $750 !!! Presently strung with GHS Brite Flats and tuned BEAD - quite cool :-))))
