I just have my Distilliate. Being that I was extremely lucky to have obtained the bass, I can't see ever buying another fretted 4 string. Without a close family member I could never have got it. I let go of my beautiful Ash Jazz Plus to make the first couple payments. No regrets.

As far as the Fender goes, it was one of the nicest basses I've had. And, I've had some very nice instruments(Stu Spector NS 5 String built by the man himself....a couple 70's Rickenbacker's...2 other Alembic's). With the exception of the two Alembic's, the Fender Jazz Plus was ahead of all of 'em. Most of the names stamped or written in the neck pocket of the Jazz Plus are now Custom Shop guys! Two of the names included built the first 100 run of the covetted original SRV Signature Stratocasters. If you're in Columbus Ohio and see this bass, you might want to buy it.

Out of all the luxury bass companies, I haven't seen another with the combination of features the Distilliate has... neck thru, semi hollow body wings(to allow for the Wizard Man's electronics), and angled neck like a Les Paul. Plus, the bass is at it's prime, being that the wood is now completely dried out. Whoever had it took remarkable care, too. I'll do pics soon.
