And I do feel bad a lot of times! But I have to point that out to you, as much as poorer people have to point some things out to me. That's why it's useful to listen to different perspectives, you learn many things, including gratefulness.

Feeling bad about something and actively doing something about it are two totally different things. And while you sit there feeling but not doing, you get on the internet and verbally berate others for not doing. That's shameful. I've made my point, and I'm done here.

Are you God/other deity of choice? What gives you the right to say what people deserve/don't deserve? If someone earns money by working (as a musician or otherwise) they can buy whatever they want; there's a difference between wanting, needing, and deserving as well. No one needs fifteen basses exactly (at least not from a stripped down "all we need is food, water, and shelter" perspective) but people are allowed to want whatever. If you earn money to buy something through legal, moral means (i.e. not stealing etc.) you deserve anything and everything you can purchase.

Amen to that. If you work and buy your **** legitimately then who's to judge. My life is about ME and what makes me happy.

1 ibanez gio five string
1 fender blacktop p bass
1 music man Sterling classic
1 fender kingman acoustic
I also have a peavey TKO 115 and a hartke ha 5500 with 2 410 cabs. Not to mentioned a lot of pedals I hardly use. Plus all the high end cables and such to run all this stuff.

By the way, reading about the people here that cannot fathom those of us with all this gas I'm going next weekend to buy another fender.

You should be able to have as many basses as she has pairs of shoes.

I have 5. A good number for me, but I wouldn't mind having a few more and may get more down the road, but the weather is starting to get nice and I have 5 motorcycles as well, so it's time to spread my attentions, (and my money) a little thinner.

Currently have 2, and working on number 3... wife seems to be ok with this one (reluctantly)... not sure how many more I can get away with before lawyers start getting involved, though. Trying to figure out an angle on an amp and cab as well... suggestions are welcome!

When I put down my hard earned money for a bass, I don't feel the least bit undeserving, or like I've deprived someone else from playing a bass because I'm not undeserving and I'm not depriving anyone else of anything.

I currently have 19 (and 3 rigs). Way more than I need, but I "deserve" each and every damned one of them! And no, I don't feel bad at all. As a matter of fact, all this talk about "deserving" gear just gave me GAS. I'm off to the classifieds! :bassist:
