How many of you use each of your pedals on your pedalboard on at least 3 songs by a band you gig live with? I expect a lot of people won't answer. I expect there's a lot of people out there with pedalboards just for fun, and that's fine. I want to know as a percentage how many TB'ers on the effects forum actually use their pedalboards with a live band. If you have any pedal on your pedalboard you use on less than 3 songs in a live gigging environment, answer NO. If you get good mileage out of what you bother to carry with you to a gig answer YES.

The point is, do you bring your whole pedalboard to gigs? If you're not getting the mileage out of the stuff you bother to carry to gigs that's a bit sad, is it not? I'm a professional musician so I do a lot of gigs and I wouldn't bother with carrying something to a gig that I'm not using constantly. Point is I see a lot of people spending big bucks on pedals that'd be only useful for one song if that, yet cannot afford a decent tube amp. I don't expect a lot of honest answers. If you're not using the stuff you carry with you heavily, just answer honestly. If you're inclined to feel bad about it and feel that I'm condescending in asking the question, maybe you better rethink your effects philosophy.

The pedalboard is fit to whatever my current needs are.
Generally I always keep a power strip, power block (BBE Supacharger) and some kind of switcher (Wounded Paw Super Blender these days).
If I use 2 pedals that's what it will have.
If I need a pedal for one specific song it will have it too.
So the answer to the question is no.

yes and no I don't....my flange, chorus and muff get the most love, where a phaser, octaver are more specific, but my reverb/delay stays on all the time. I don't feel the need to use them because I have them, I use them when I feel it adds something.

You remind me of a friend of mine, who could not see the multiple levels of meanings in words. If you want to argue semantics, go ahead, I do not care. Fact is you run pedals and don't use them live. You're offended that I've pointed that out, sure. Arguing semantics isn't going to make you a better or more useful bass player, so have at it!

I didn't think the poll was badly constructed...I just thought it was stupid. I'm at a loss why you are so preoccupied with casting judgments on what other people are doing. The only thing I can think of is that you're just very unlikable. But if I were you, I'd be practicing a lot more than casting judgments. You're not really in any position to be casting judgments.

says the guy who's not allowed to spend more than 200$ on a single gear purchase

In case you haven't noticed it's getting plenty enough attention, just not from those who feel ashamed to vote that they don't use their pedals.

It's getting attention for it's trainwreck potential.

Or is this what you want...

Oh my god! You're so right! People don't use their effects in all that many songs. They're so stupid. They carry these things around and they're such idiots cuz they use them for like, one song. Haha! Idiots. All of them. They just like to talk about their pedals, and play with them in their bedrooms. You're so much more on the ball than theym. These people on talkbass.... lol!
