how old were you at your first gig?

But I started at age 26...

13. It was 1984 and we played some backyard deal. We covered a lot of late 60's stuff back then - Louie Louie, Beatles' tunes, Steve Winwood, Deep Purple, etc.

first paid gig i think i was 16 at a bar in town. complements from drunk guys when ur 16 are the best.

especially when they ask about your singer and why SHE doesnt have a bigger pa...when your singer is a dude.

First paying gig I was 13. First REAL gig at age 14. I had a jazz band that played about once a week at different parties (I played drums for them). We were employed by a company called Mcmenamins here in Portland that owns a bunch of venues and we played for 60 bucks a gig, I saved up and bought a really nice drum kit by the end of the summer! It was awsome. Wish I could go back to last summer! haha.

13 (1969). Played an afternoon dance in a chuch basement in jr hi. We didn't get paid, but I snuck up into the chapel (or whatever you call it) and found the collection plate. Guess I'm gonna have some explaining to do when the day comes

First pro gig was 16 in dance band that played high schools throughout Washington state. Booked almost every Friday and Saturday night - different school/town each night. Union gigs. Anybody else here from the Unicam stable in the '70s? Paid well

Hmm I was 13 or maybe 14 when I first played in front of a large group (on bass). It was at my school, my band was playing a battle of the bands and 700 people in the school turned up to watch. I was pooping myself.

I started doing weekly Jazz gigs when I was 16, that was great fun.
