How to stop Tinnitus

My GF has type 1 Diabetes and uses Magic mushrooms to help with Neuropathy , gonna try some for my Tinnitus tonight .

I found 1 dose of .4g was not enough to silence the ringing, but .5g was and it lasted for days. For micro doses to work, I'm expecting that it'll need to be taken regularly.

Some people have claimed permanent recovery after taking 5g, but that's a BIG dose. Prepare for a ride.

I know my tinnitus noises qiute intimately-
Left ear - McDonnell-Douglas F4-D Phantom II idling as heard from in front of the intake, A/M32-60 Gas Turbine Motor Generator running @ 100% (slightly lower frequency)
Right ear - McDonnell-Douglas F4-D Phantom II idling & just off idle (loud screech), A/M32-60 Gas Turbine Motor Generator running @ 100% with bleed air engaged.

As a Phantom Phixer, I tried to protect my hearing but well, Uncle Sam doesn't believe in proper ear plugs. I had the ones that were connected with a lanyard but I need a smaller one in my right ear to fit properly. We weren't allowed to splice two different color plugs together for fear or being wrote up. Been living with hearing loss from the "Double Ugly" and tinnitus since the '70's. Just now bought hearing aids so they have helped reduce the tinnitus by 'improving' my hearing range up high, like female high alto and above voices and beyond. I get a military stipend for my tinnitus but was denied hearing aids by the VA. Currently waiting out the 60 day comment period where the VA will treat the cause of tinnitus, i.e. hearing damage. At least they would service and replace my hearing aids for free if I get their decision overturned.

When I was a kid, we had a Thrifty's that had this horrible high pitched tone. I couldn't stand to be in that store at all. Somewhere along the line, that high pitched squeal made it into my head. Both ears, 24/7. It's louder than anything else I hear. NOTHING is louder.

I've heard of people considering suicide over it. Me, it's there, and there's nothing I can do about it, so I just ignore it as best I can. There isn't a treatment I haven't tried, and I'm pretty much done trying.

In my case, there is only one solution, and that's death. At my death, the tinnitus will end.

At my age, death is getting much too close for comfort, and I'm not going to let some ringing in my ears cheat me out of life. Life is short, and I've got lots of bass to play.

My personal demon is at about 11 kHz.

Here you go… Enjoy!

I've had tinnitus for around 20 years or so (noticed it right after high school). I participated in a study a few years back on individuals' perceptions of their tinnitus, essentially judging the volume & frequency of what I heard in my head against pre-recorded tones. The thing is, at least for me, the more I paid attention to it and really tried to pin down the sound, the more elusive it became. (e.g.: *beep* "Is your tinnitus louder or softer than this? Higher or lower?" "I HAVE NO IDEA ANYMORE!!")

There are so many causes for tinnitus that I find it hard to accept easy cure explanations. Many people experience it after having some form of hearing damage, but I have none (the study I did included a hearing test, which showed no loss aside from HF loss typical for my age). I'm intrigued by the folks who have mentioned jaw issues, as I have had TMJ issues in the past. I understand salt and caffeine to be related to Meniere's, which might be my issue as well; my heavier tinnitus episodes always coincide with migraine and vertigo.

I tried microdosing cubes last year for other issues. Didn't notice any effect on the tinnitus, but I still have a few grams so maybe I'll give it another shot and see what happens :)

I haven't been up that way in ten years. Time for another bacon maple bar at Voodoo Doughnut. Sure, I have a branch 38 miles away in Universal City, but you know what they say, "It ain't the same if it ain't from the original."

They used to have the X-Ray Cafe here, which I had the pleasure of playing at many times :)

I actually took part in a beta study for this. They paid me to do it. It didn't work at all.
I get some relief for and went ahead

I suggest that if anyone tries it to stay on track using it......you have 30 days of it doesn't work for you.

The therapies that have helped me are
--sound therapy, as outlined here.
Sound Therapies.
I have a number of apps on my phone that i use. The goal is to habituate the brain to the point where it ignores it. The sound removes the anxiety that arises when I focus on my tinnitus, and it helps me sleep.
Over a period of a year or so, I had reach a point where I hardly noticed it at all (until the gig in Oct. 2021, when it spiked up again from playing with high-volume bandmates, and ill-fitting old earplugs).

--Reducing my blood pressure/ hypertension. I notice a difference in the intrusiveness of the tinnitus.
--I use molded earplugs with filters and plugs on gigs and at live music shows. And I only play with friends who don't crank the amp to 11.

I've also found that thinking a lot about tinnitus, such as now, makes me more aware of it, and it becomes more intrusive.

I can't hear that video…

There is a big difference between "is" and "could be." I have had tinnitus for nearly 40 years. My insulin level is fine.

Mine is from blasting records through headphones in the 70s and 80s.

my wife also battles this ... tinnitus is a symptom that has many causes ... and it is a pain in the back side to deal with.

I earned my tinnitus the old fashioned way, from Iron Butterfly to Buddy Guy to My Bloody Valentine(not to mention doing sound in dives for a few years). At one point I took some sort of OTC 'cure' suppliments to no results, but I think over time your brain adjusts to it, and it gets filtered out on a psychological level. But then mine is not severe, however I know I've got high-end loss.
