Yes, it does. 18 USC Section 1341 "Frauds and Swindles" is the applicable Statute:

It applies to the postal system as well as private carriers. The Postal Inspection Service would be the Federal law enforcement agency with jurisdiction/interest, and they should be called first thing Tuesday morning, bass or no bass.
JPATA knows that a phone call was made and police follow up is now a given. I asked that he quickly start the return of my bass, as that would at least work in his favor. His multiple wrong doings need to be addressed and it just so happened with my transaction. The list that followed can not be denied or ignored.

This forum is one of the places where the crime took place. I would start saving all this information now, before something happens to it. The owners of this forum may have an interest in not seeing it pursued. I'm not talking about the mods and I am purely speculating. I really have no idea what they think or would do about this, but then neither do you. Data is volatile.

I am with out a doubt going to at least get a better start with the east coast tomorrow. Again, a VM was left with the Granite Falls PD and JPATA is aware. I asked that a UPS Tracking number be provided to me tomorrow morning and that I would post it here.
Hey you know, if the Feds can go after Gibson for questionable wood purchases, then they can surely do something here. Police budgets are strained, but the cops are more and more into these crimes of the internet. Typically it's for sex offenders, but this is suitable enough to get action. Getting the evidence lined up for them saves them time and helps yourself out in the long run. Even if someone does try to delete evidence now or later, your being able to show the current information just speeds up their pursuit. Then if someone does tamper with the evidence, well, then that is just one more charge to help solidify the conviction - or add weight to the plea bargain.
I think you need more than a tracking number. You need a YouTube video of the actual bass being placed in a shipping box AT THE UPS SHIPPING PLACE, sealed and handed over to the clerk that is filmed in one continuous unedited shot where the bass never leaves view....or else it could be a box of broomsticks!
I agree. Even if this guy didnt do what he just did, there is no denying that his band is horrible.
As for you Hottwix, you have a serious pathological problem. Lying, deceiving, and stealing from people is wrong. You appear to be young enough to be able to turn your life around. If you continue on your course you will eventually find yourself in prison. The stories that you hear of what they do to young men in prison are true. Is that really what you want in life? Continue to embrace music, find a mentor, a positive role model. Start living the good life.
