I had to do it!! (Iceman Content)

Pointy bass threads go over almost as well as relic threads around here but...........I don't care!! I had to do it.

I've always loved the Iceman lines but never cared for the import quality. So..........

USAG neck, pau ferro fretboard, Warmoth body, ash, P/J route. Tomorrow starts the build, the rest of my parts should be here midweek. Fralin pickups, stacked knob controls, Hipshot ultralights. I will be finished in a clear semigloss.

Yes, it will probably neckdive and I might poke someones eye out but I'm not going to relic it :D :hiding:

Awesome, love that shape, can't wait to see it done!

I can't wait to see it done myself! I'm using ferules instead of a neck plate. I might add a 5th one in the middle. Tomorrow, I'll be counterboring they body holes for the ferules. If my tuners arrive as planned, I'll cut the headstock. I need them in place just to make sure everything is spaced proplery. Then the control holes. The finish will be shot all in one day using my buddies heated paintbooth............... 3 light coats.

Maybe you should do a light nitro finish, fiesta red or sonic blue would be nice.
Then maybe take out the sandpaper, chip some finish away...
I saw a nice file on the bay for cheap and some rusty hardware as well :hiding:

I keed I keed :D

Ooh, the ferrules will be super sweet, as the finish should be!

What headstock shape you thinking of?

Looks sweet. I always liked the Iceman body style, but after 3 non-musicians friends in a row said that the lower horn looks like a #$% (ahem, like a phallic symbol) I never had the confidence to buy one.

I don't think I've ever seen a non-solid Iceman. Should be rad.

what a buncha ****heads :D

anyway i have had to force my self several times to stop from buying an iceman. i dont think id use it much but i love em . i love everything about them.

when i saw warmoth had em i REALLY had to fight the urge. one of my dream guitars has always been to own an ICJ100WZ J Yuenger (of prior white zombie fame) sig model. its candy green with Glow in the dark pearloid star body inlays, id KILL to make it as a bass

I'm going to go with the the Iceman style. The holes are spaced a bit differently so I'll make it as close as possible. Between the body shape and the headstock, this thing is going to be a about 2 1/2" longer than a Fender P bass!

As far as the finish......Just clear, gold hardware. I'll probably make a carbon fiber nut and maybe a titanium "Faux trussrod cover" since the trussrod nut is at the body.
